Gert, I mean she is your mom.

is it me or?? is my girl gert v self destructive when it comes to her relationship w chase like!!! throughout s2 she spent the entire time getting pissed off at chase for every litte thing he did, enlarging all their problems and!!! i get her being mad at chase for teaming up w the parents but during their ~break up~ scene, u could tell she was the one initiating it all and chase had no intent to break up w her

tbh i think she’s so scared of the concept of it all and still can’t wrap the idea over the fact that chase loves her so she’d rather ruin their relationship before even giving chase a chance to break her heart

in conclusion: bb girl is scared

i think she ends it because as she enters the room, she is so ready to be completely open with him. to be completely vulnerable, and give it her all. she’s been holding back, and kinda looking for a way out (ie school etc) because she was so scared of loving chase and that he would love her. leading up to him leaving in just what 24 hours? he basically was ready to move heaven and earth for her, was there for her sister, and was willing to do anything to make her better. 

then he decided to leave, and not just leave, leave without telling her. no goodbye kiss, nothing. just up and leave. that line “you were always gonna leave” has been her biggest fear and now it seems to be coming true 

so did she shut down again? put those walls back up? ofc. can you blame her? in a way no. chase leaving w/o saying bye was cowardly. who knows if that would’ve played out differently if he had explained it all to gert. maybe she would’ve gone along with it, maybe she would’ve gone with him, maybe she would’ve gotten everyone else on board. but leaving without a reason was cowardly, or at least giving one. 

For future reference, we don’t really talk with our mouths full. 

chase really goes from “im afraid to tell gert i love her” to “she’s an animal…..sexually…..” in like twenty seconds flat
