i like jace, i do,but magnus is my favorite character, and has no real relationship with jace. magnus/izzy became friends in season 1, he’s known clary since she was a child, he feels bad for simon because he knows what its like to be thrown into a world you have no clue about, he sees raphael as a son, luke has become a good friend, and of course catarina is his best friend, and he genuinely likes maia. but we have never seen him bond with jace the same way as he has with others. 

he is really ONLY doing this for alec. if this were isabelle, it would be because he cares about her, apart from being alec’s sister, same with clary, he has watched her grow up and he cares about her. if jace were any other shadowhunter he wouldn’t be going through this. he is only doing this because jace is alec’s brother 

if i ever see someone say magnus doesn’t care about alec i am gonna scream. he is going to see his father WHO HAD WARLOCK CHILDREN JUST TO TAKE THEIR POWER AND KILL THEM to save jace because he matters to alec. 

so haters you once again have no leg to stand on go fck yourself.

magnus knows that once upon a time alec had some mixed feelings about jace. he was confused and thought he was in love with him (confirmed by writers of the show/show runners/and matt himself) heck within their first meeting alec’s memory of the one he loved the most was jace. magnus knows alec’s past, and doesn’t hold it against him. he knows alec loves jace as his brother much like magnus loves catarina, or ragnor like family. he loves alec differently and alec loves magnus differently because its romantic not familial love 

if magnus had to pick between catarina or alec or ragnor or alec (saying ragnor was still alive) he wouldn’t be able to make the choice as well. 

you can love two people deeply but in very different ways. it doesn’t make one better than the other.

one of my favorite things about shadowhunters is that the men are allowed to cry and grieve and break down, and instead of painting them as weak, they actually show them stronger because they dealt with their feelings?

i want more jace/izzy brother/sister moments. 

i love jace/alec and alec/isabelle and even the trio, but i love when we get some jace/izzy moments. 

like the training sequence. jace knows how strong and powerful izzy is, he expects sparing against her to be hard. he is used to it, so when she was holding back he knew something was up. 

i just need more that’s all
