@wuekka here's the part in the book btw, which is a scene where Viren was doing a flashback narration in 2 x 6 "Heart of a Titan"

Nothing much has been explained about their friendship actually, though this tells me that Viren is a Dark Mage prodigy, and Harrow's father supports Dark Magic arts

I don't think we've got any info about Harrow and Viren's teenage past aside from the Book 2 novelization mention

#I don't think they will reveal some info about it in NYCC or in TTM book panel#coz this seems crucial in S4#since The Puzzlehouse graphic novel seems to be released after S4#so either there will be no TTM sequel & the graphic novel that they announced back in TTM was actually The Puzzlehouse#OR we might get 2 graphic novels after S4#just to have enough buffer in case S5 will be put in another hiatus#unless they will release The Puzzlehouse in S5#tdp#the dragon prince#chimpu ask#tdp s2 novelization#wuekka

This scene happened between the end of 2x6 and the beginning of 2x7 after they disembarked the boat

For those who don't mind being spoiled and wanted to know the context: Villads exhaled directly to Callum's face after giving him a piece of wind advice, and likely caught a whiff of the sea on his breath. Claudia did a similar stunt to him back in S1 (Aspiroed on his face & smelled the peanut butter that she ate that morning). Which is why he complained about people breathing on this face

BTW Callum and Rayla have been pissing each other off since they left the Moon Nexus much to Ez concern 😂

But it's funnier if they actually put this in the show that by S3 when Ez found out their relationship, everything will just click and he'll be like "You've been flirting all this time?! And you've been doing it in front of the minors?"

Imagine the horror when he realized that Zym, a baby who doesn't know anything in this world even the concept of goodbye, will first learn the basic etiquette between humans and elves from them

I've finally finished Book 2 Sky novelization and here are the scenes I noticed that were ommitted/replaced/missed in the series:

  • Callum sidestepping Claudia's embrace when Rayla said that the siblings attacked her
  • Rayla immediately knew that Claudia's pancakes have dark magic involved after she had her first bite
  • The scene where Rayla told Callum about the zip line incident was removed. Instead, Rayla went to Lujanne when she didn't find Callum in the room. Which means Callum's line "You and I, we don't have that yet" never happened
  • No awkward hair-do panic date for Callum
  • Rayla's line "Follow my lead" to Callum on the part where Lujanne used an illusion to reveal Claudia and Soren's plans
  • Viren has been friends with Harrow since they were teens. He also served under Harrow's father as well.
  • Opeli was appointed as high cleric by Harrow and has been serving for five years
  • Duren had a famine for 7 years when the queens came to Katolis for help. The queens actually rejected King Harrow's offer of sharing their food rations between kingdoms, which made Harrow to suggest Viren's plan about getting the Magma Titan's heart. And that's despite the fact that he and Sarai had a long-term solution plan
  • Aaravos' name that was written on Callum's letter vanished. He assumed he accidentally smudged it. This means that only Callum (other than Viren) knows about Aaravos as a name of a high mage elf who controls 6 primals.
  • No mention about Rayla heavily throwing up in The Ruthless
  • Callum's line "Why do people always feel the need to blow on me when they're making a point?" only for Rayla to do it lol
  • Callum blushing when Rayla said "I believe in you", words that no one had ever said to him before (poor boy), before she left to save Pyrrha
  • Callum was fully awake at Rayla's almost confession, and even asked her about it lol
  • Claudia giving Ez a drink (lemonade?) that he could give to Callum to cure him
  • Claudia's morbid scene with the deer
  • Gren mentioning about his captivity to Amaya and why he hasn't shaved
  • So many The Puzzlehouse spoilers

I might need to rewatch S2 to spot if I missed something again

It's interesting to note the romantic Claudium in Book 2 novelization here and the revelation that Claudia really liked Callum enough to kiss him willingly - if not for her plans.

There's a mutual attraction, sure, but Claudia wasn't interested enough to understand Callum's side of the story. And Callum was an awkward mess around Claudia to express himself more.

And despite her desire to win his trust, Claudia never dared to use his feelings as her advantage. She even gave Ezran a powdered drink (lemonade) for Callum to drink once he wakes up from using Dark Magic (tho there's no mention in the book that Ez gave it to Callum)

Unfortunately, Callum took the hard blow. He trusted Claudia, and as much as he hates to admit it, maybe loved her.

But was it really love?

Enter platonic-but-not-really Rayllum who have been bickering and pissing each other off in a friendly-but-not-really manner since Book 1. They don't know anything about each other than their common mission. Callum don't know anything personal about Rayla - her family/friends/home - as much as he knows about Claudia, but he has revered her as heroic and brave, and even considered himself lucky to be her friend.

Anyway, I can't wait to get on hold of Book 3 Sun and read how these two dorks found each other and Claudia falling into corruption
