The CHIKARA Special

Three matches have been added to “Silence in the Library” over the past week!

First, in a rematch from “Deep Breath”, Icarus will once again tangle with Rory Gulak. In Chicago, Gulak came into the match with two points and Icarus took them away. This time, it is Icarus coming into the match with two points. Gulak has the chance to do the same thing to Icarus that he did to him. Will he be able to get the job done this time around?

The Maine State Posse makes their CHIKARA debut against the trio of Jeremy Leary and the Osirian Portal!

Finally, Oleg the Usurper and Hermit Crab will meet for the first time in singles action. The last time CHIKARA was in New England, Hermit Crab scored a major singles victory over Dasher Hatfield. Will he score another upset in Maine?

The Whisper’s goal of proving himself to be the superior Ophidian seems to be going to plan. So far, he won the Rey de Voladores more quickly than the original, and won the Young Lions Cup, something the original never did. If Ophidian and this new Amasis defeat Dez Peloton in Enfield, CT, they’ll have accrued enough points to challenge for the Campeones de Parejas. Will the Portal slither their way into a title match, or will Dez Peloton have them eating their dust?

The Whisper is doing everything in his power to prove he is the superior Ophidian. He won the Rey de Voladores in a more expedient fashion, and this past Sunday won the Young Lions Cup, something the original Ophidian never did. As stated in a recently published blog, Ophidian decided there was something he needed to do to truly prove his superiorty - resurrect the Osirian Portal and go for Los Campeonatos de Parejas. On October 28th, Ophidian and Amasis will team up to face Kobald and Oleg the Usurper! Of course, Amasis lost his mask and left CHIKARA the last time CHIKARA was in Chicago. Could it be one in the same, or will this be a new Amasis, much like we have a new Ophidian? Do they get the 1 point the original Osirian Portal had before Amasis went away? All questions should be answered on the 28th.

Outstanding Sequence of Counter-Wrestling [Making A Stand]

Two matches have been added to “Babylon Springs”, taking place this Sunday at the Wrestle Factory in Philadelphia.

The first is a grudge match fitting former partners Oleg the Usurper and Jaka against one another. Oleg’s issue is mostly with the Devastation Corporation, but for now Jaka is still associated with them as a member of the Wrecking Crew. This serves not only as an opportunity for Oleg to further assert his dominance as a singles competitor, but also to capture his 3rd point and a second chance at CHIKARA’s Grand Championship. Of course, this also means Jaka has a chance to play spoiler. Who will come out victorious in this potentially vicious battle.

Also signed is a four corner elimination tag team match. As we saw just a couple of weeks ago, this match is an opportunity for a team to accrue up to three points in just one bout. Currently signed for the match are two former Campeones de Parejas: the Throwbacks and the Osirian Portal.

Three matches have been announced for “Off The Hook” in Jeffersonville, IN on Saturday, October 24th.

The first is a Challenge of the Immortals tag team match pitting The Snake Pit of Ophidian & Shynron against the Gentleman’s Club of Drew Gulak & Orange Cassidy. Eddie Kingston defeated Drew Gulak when the two teams met back in June, so this match could serve as Gulak’s vindication if the Gentleman’s Club can pull out the victory.

The next sees the return of AC/DC (Arik Cannon & Darin Corbin) to CHIKARA for the first time since June of 2014 to take on Battleborn of Lucas Calhoun and Missile Assault Man, who come into the match with 1 points towards a tag title shot. 

Finally, we have a singles match in the Challenge of the Immortals, with Gentleman’s Club leader Chuck Taylor challenging Wrecking Crew member Blaster McMassive. It was all the way back in April when a trios match saw the Wrecking Crew defeat the Gentleman’s Club, making this the final match between these two teams in the tournament.
