The final two teams have been made official for King of Trios 2016! At Sunday’s Network Special, “No One’s First, and You’re Next”, Grand Champion Hallowicked made it clear that he and two other yet-to-be-named men would be the 15th Trio entered into the tournament. Meanwhile, a septuplet of “ants” converged to fight Hallowicked and his army, only to come up short. However, the makeshift partners of Worker Ant, Arctic Rescue Ant, and Missile Assault Man were entered the next day as the 16th and final trio in the tournament! We saw the makings of a makeshift partnership with Worker Ant and Arctic Rescue Ant during the Infinite Gauntlet in May, but Missile Assault Man has turned down all attempts from Arctic Rescue Ant to make amends and once again become partners. This is one trio to watch during the weekend.

Last night, the first two first round matches were decided! The Colony will battle Team Big Deal, while The United Nations squares off with Team Police Squad!

When CHIKARA rolled into Toronto, the fans expected a singles match between the former Hornswoggle and Juan Francisco de Coronado. However, during the matinee show, Hornswoggle debuted a tag team consisting of Sloan Caprice and Rick Roland (the former Mike Verna and Rex Lawless). This led to a trios match between Hornswoggle’s crew and The United Nations, in which Team Big Deal won! Coronado claims he was unprepared, and with confidence in his team to win again, a challange was laid out from Hornswoggle for a rematch on August 21st when CHIKARA presents its first Network special. Will Hornswoggle be triumphant again, or will Coronado prove the original victory Team Big Deal accrued was truly a fluke?

For weeks CHIKARA teased that “The Big Deal” was coming. It was revealed that the Big Deal is the former Hornswoggle of WWE fame! Juan Francisco de Coronado flippantly remarked on Twitter that he’s the only big deal in CHIKARA, making him a natural choice for The Big Deal’s first opponent in the company. What will happen when these two cross paths in Toronto?
