The annual ten team tag team gauntlet will return on Night 3 of King of Trios weekend! Only the final team leaves the match with points, while the other nine leave empty handed.

The first two teams announced are both former Campeones de Parejas. Los Ice Creams won the 2017 gauntlet, making themselves the first ever team that entered the Gauntlet as Campeones to block future challengers. The Closers of Rick Roland and Sloan Caprice will compete as a team for the first time in Season 20, and on their own with no “boss” in the pursuit of collecting enough points to challenge for the Campeones de Parejas a second time.

CHIKARA is back in Philadelphia this Friday night! For the first time, they will be playing Love City Brewing to celebrate both Pride Week and Philly Beer Week! Tickets are only $10 and proceeds from the event go to benefit the Valley Youth House who support homeless and vulnerable youth.

The first match announced on that card is a CHIKARA classic: a trios match! The Xyberhawx 2000 or Razerhawk and Danjerhawk (both former Young Lions Cup champions) team up with Solo Darling to take on El Hijo del Ice Cream and half of the Creatures of the Deep, Hermit Crab & Cajun Crawdad!

In this match are former Campeones de Parejas Los Ice Creams, The Proteus Wheel of Volgar & Frantik, The Colony of Green & Thief Ant, and Solo Dalring and Willow Nightingale, The Bird and the Bee! This is Nightingale’s first time back in CHIKARA since the 2016 National Pro Wrestling Day installment when she competed in the Young Lions Cup tournament. While it may be her and Darling’s first time teaming in CHIKARA, they won the Women’s Wrestling Revolution tag team tournament in December and look to bring that success to the home turf of Darling, a former Campeon de Parejas in her own right! Every single team entering this match has a clean slate, meaning they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Only one team can leave with points: who will it be?

In 2008, CHIKARA held the first “La Lotería Letal” event, a take off the WCW Lethal Lottery concept. Over ten years later, CHIKARA is reviving the concept on October 27th!

The above sixteen participants will be randomly placed into eight tag teams who will compete in a one-night single elimination tournament. The team who wins the tournament will have three points and a future shot at Los Campeonatos de Parejas. 

The field consists of former Grand Champions, former Campeones de Parejas now turned rivals, some guest stars like Shazza McKenzie, Jessica Troy, and Beyond Wrestling’s Cam Zagami, and the return of Missile Assault Man who caused quite the chaotic scene last weekend.

The first La Lotería Letal led to the formation of the UnStable and Future is Now factions. How will this year’s version affect the future of CHIKARA?

July 28th will see two big returns to the CHIKARA ring! We saw Princess KimberLee come to the aid of Los Ice Creams at “Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes” where she cleaned house on “The Creatures of the Deep”, and saw her compete in the Infinite Gauntlet in May, and now she returns to action nearly three months later in this Atomicos. Joining her is another return, as Kikutaro sees action in a CHIKARA ring for the first time since King of Trios 2012. Travis Huckabee and Tony Deppen directly oppose the type of nonsense their opponents bring to the table, and Crab and Crawdad will be looking for revenge against the Princess for her attack at “Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes”, and for eliminating Oceanea during the Infinite Gauntlet.
