After losing to the Osirian Portal in Chicago, Kobald gave Oleg the Usurper a little bit of tough love. He said Oleg needed to “pick up the slack.” Oleg did just that, defeating both Hermit Crab and Jeremy Leary during CHIKARA’s trip to New England two weekends ago. Despite these wins, Kobald pontificated on Twitter whether he got through to Oleg, or Oleg tanked his latest matches with Kobald on purpose. Either way, Kobald said he would find a way to make Oleg love him, and has been sending him reminders and encouragement on social media. Will Oleg and Kobald get back on the right track at the season finale, or will Dez Peloton show them up?

The Whisper’s goal of proving himself to be the superior Ophidian seems to be going to plan. So far, he won the Rey de Voladores more quickly than the original, and won the Young Lions Cup, something the original never did. If Ophidian and this new Amasis defeat Dez Peloton in Enfield, CT, they’ll have accrued enough points to challenge for the Campeones de Parejas. Will the Portal slither their way into a title match, or will Dez Peloton have them eating their dust?

The Rumblebees are just one point away from challenging Los Ice Creams and potentially becoming two time Campeones de Parejas. Los Ice Creams defeated the Rumblebees for those titles back in July, where after the Rumblebees engaged in a grueling 24 minute battle and won those titles, Los Ice Creams cashed in their second Golden Opportunity and whisked away those belts from Solo Darling and Travis Huckabee more quickly than they had won them. Dez Peloton on the other hand is looking to get back into the game after losing to the Campeones in a non-title encore match in Chicago. Will the Rumblebees earn their second opportunity at the gold this Season, or will Dez Peloton pass them by?

King of Trios Report #5 ft. words from House Bike Cops on the tournament.

This Saturday’s “Chikarasaurus Rex” event will see what could be considered a warm-up for this year’s King of Trios. Bike Cops of Officer Warren Barksdale and Dez Peloton, entered into the tournament, will be taking on two-thirds of the Seven seas trio (Hermit Crab and Cajun Crawdad), plus Sloan Caprice. Caprice fills in for Merlok who has his hands full with Dasher Hatfield elsewhere on the card. The Bike Cops are a very new trio, so this match provides them one final opportunity to get acclimated to working with one another before the big dance. Caprice’s partner Rick Roland is out of action indefinitely due to injury, so this could be him looking to find a position for himself as Roland heals. We’ll see which relatively new trio comes out on top Saturday.

Their opponents, The Closers, also have zero points, and have not seen tag team action since “Turn Left” in Orlando. This is also a first time match-up between the two teams. Will Dez Peloton be able to out maneuver their powerful adversaries, or will the Closers take home a point “for the boss?”

CHIKARA will be celebrating it’s 15th anniversary on Saturday, May 27th in Hellertown, PA! This will be CHIKARA’s first time back in Hellertown in nearly 9 years.

Two announcements have been made for the card so far. First, the main event of the evening will be a 10 man tag, and one entire team has been revealed: former grand champion Hallowicked, current Grand Champion Juan Francisco de Coronado, Gran Akuma (making his CHIKARA return after a 4 year absence), El Hijo del Ice Cream, and Frightmare.

Second, Sonny Defarge & Cornelius Crummels will make their third Campeones de Parejas defense. This time, it is against their rivals in Dez Peloton, who are making their first attempt at capturing the gold.

If the main event is any indication, this show will have some fun surprises!

I thought I would pause from my RIGOROUS training schedule to share my musings about some recent developments here at CHIKARA.

Firstly, it is with the utmost enthusiasm and ZEAL that I am stratagizing for my GLORIOUS OPPORTUNITY to WIN the Infinite Gauntlet!!! This grueling and SAVAGE contest will be a TRUE TEST of my willpower. Some of the most EXTRAORDINARY competitors in the HISTORY OF CHIKARA will be competing on this FATEFUL NIGHT. In spite of these obstacles, NAY… BECAUSE of them, I believe that THIS HALF of Dez Peloton will prove victorious.

Secondly, I know that my previous statement must beg the questions “Will the luxurious Jasper Tippins also be participating? Will your friendship be at RISK?” The answer to the second inquiry is simple - Jasper and myself have FORGED a bond of real FRIENDSHIP through rigorous competition. Our friendship is NEVER at risk. Such a quandary however, is not relevant in this case, as it is with a heavy HEART I regret to inform you that Jasper Tippins will not be in attendance. He will still be in recovery from a BRUTAL attempt to qualify for the Tour de Romandie (CURSE you Richie Porte!!!)

The Infinite Gauntlet requires perseverance, determination, and ENDURANCE for success. These are traits I not only have, I EMBODY THEM. I will outlast every competitor until NONE REMAIN ANYWHERE FOREVER. I have no apprehension in calling my shot here - Donald Kluger will climb that summit and STAND TALL IN VICTORY.
