Losing his Ecuadorian citizenship and apparently his riches has somewhat humbled the former Juan Francisco de Coronado, and lately, we’ve seen him embrace his American patriotism and even the CHIKARMY! While we know what to expect of John Francis these days, his opponent could have a different side to them now that the details of the Crucible have been unraveled. This first time ever encounter leaves a lot to the imagination as to what to expect, as these two characters have evolved so much in just the past sixty days.  With wins over Merlok & Oceanea, and then one half of the Campeones de Parejas Travis Huckabee & Icarus, Lucas Calhoun & Stray Kat have made their mark in CHIKARA’s tag team division in very shot time. They’ll have the chance to earn a Campeones de Parejas opportunity on May 26th when they face Midwest stalwarts Arik Cannon (former Young Lions Cup holder and Tag World Grand Prix winner) and Darin Corbin, lovingly known as AC/DC. Will the Rockabilly Roughneck and the body kat return to CHIKARA HQ with F.I.S.T in their crosshairs?

Over the course of the past few months, we saw the Grand Championship corrupt Dasher Hatfield to the point where irreparable damage was made to his relationship with his step-cousin-in-law ‘Mr. Touchdown’ Mark Angelosetti. The title has also affected his relationship with his son Boomer, who Dasher now views as nothing more than a pawn to help him keep hold of the Grand Championship. On more than one occasion Dasher has belittled him publicly and called him a disappointment. Things came to a boiling point in the Infinite Gauntlet when Dasher pummeled his son to a point where even commentary noted how uncomfortable it was. Dasher would end up eliminating Boomer, and Dasher would later end up being eliminated by John Francis of Coronado.

After the Infinite Gauntlet, a fed up Boomer called his father to the ring. A heated verbal exchange turned physical and several folks needing to interject to keep them apart. Director of Fun Sidney Bakabella on the spot signed a match between the two for the main event of “Aniversario: Scotch Mist” on May 26th. The stakes are as a high as they can be, arguably higher than even the Grand Championship, as the loser will lose their mask and possibly no longer be considered a Hatfield. A tale of the tape would give Dasher the advantage in every field, but as we have seen, Boomer is not a competitor to take lightly. There is no disgrace quite like losing your identity, and that will be the fate for one of the Hatfield men come May 26th.

In Seasons past, Solo Darling and Icarus were partners as members of the Furies. The Furies have long since dissolved and Icarus has reformed F.I.S.T. with Tony Deppen and the man who ditched Solo due to some “encouragement” from Icarus, Travis Huckabee. Solo and Icarus will meet in a first time ever singles contest in Chicago on May 26th. This will be Solo’s first singles match since failing to capture the Grand Championship against Dasher Hatfield, and is also a fresh start for Icarus who also sits at zero singles points. Will Solo be able to best the former Grand Champion who aided in her former partners abandonment, or will Icarus leave the Logan Square Auditorium with one point under his belt?

Long time CHIKARA fans remember King of Trios 2008 when an unknown trio from the Midwest called Da Soul Touchaz stole the weekend and the hearts of the Chikarmy. They became an intermittent staple of CHIKARA for years, but, they haven’t been seen in CHKARA since the 2013 Tag World Grand Prix. That changes on May 26th when CHIKARA returns to Chicago and the Logan Square Auditorium. The original Soul Touchaz triumvirate of Marshe Rockett, Acid Jaz, and Willie ‘da Bomb’ Richardson will unite to take on the Creatures of the Deep. Will this be a successful homecoming for Chicago’s favorite sons, or will Oceanea’s charges stake their claim as the trio of today?
