Like beeswax doesn't. It kinda just stays as beeswax in the soap. The lye has nowhere to go with it. That liquid seeping out of the soap? The brown and clear drops?? That's lye. That's straight up lye. This mf made the soap equivalent of the Chernobyl elephants foot.

Quick reminder that if you touch lye with your bare hands, it will react with the fatty oils on and in your skin to create soap molecules.

That means it will give you chemical burns while creating human soap.

Lye (aka sodium hydroxide) turns hydrocarbons/fats into soap.

To some degree, all science is storytelling, because all science is learning and telling the story of the universe to each other.

It's a bit more apparent in physics where storytelling is the most accessible way to share the knowledge, but hearing an ecologist tell you the tale of salmon will move you both to tears. A Botanist will tell you about the friendships between plant s that last generations- and the hot gossip that comes with it. Every meticulous detail on any object in your home is the work of hundreds if not thousands of engineers saying "I love you, let me tell you something that will make life easier-".
