Happy to announce we're almost ready to open preorders on a 36 page Lupin III zine with art and short fiction featuring the female characters from the history of the show! Of course that means lots of Fujiko, too, so some of the content will be 18+. Over 20 talented artists contributed to this project and it looks awesome already in my humble opinion. Cover art here provided by the fabulous @crimetimesteadicam!
We'll have an option for digital and physical copies and an add on with buttons and a sticker sheet. Stay tuned to see some photos of those!
All profits will be donated to National Network of Abortion Funds. If you're interested in getting an email when preorders open, here's a link for that.
you turn on the tv in the Lupin iii universe and see something like this every other week
loop log 2
Thanks for checking out my comic, I wanted to write a proper chapter with an interaction between Jr. And Lupin.
One of the themes I was fascinated by in the Lupin manga was youth and crime and I wanted to write about that.
This retcons some known stuff about Jr. but I kind of wanted to rewrite him a little.
Basically, Jr. can't help but sort of fantasize about the freedom of being a criminal because he's never directly seen how horrible the criminal world actually is.
Jr. has never met his father and has only heard stories of him so he idolizes him as a fledgling criminal, and seeks him out to prove he can handle the Lupin name.
Lupin knows how destructive the criminal world is and refuses to teach Jr. anything about the Lupin family out of fear he could become just like him.
Lupin gives false leads to Jr. about his whereabouts as a means to keep him distracted, but it only inspires Jr more. To me, Lupin is also doing this as a way to fix his own past, and not put Jr. through the same things he went through as a child, and as another way to bring down the last pieces of his grandfather's Lupin Empire he despises.
Jr. is obviously aware about the game of cat and mouse he's in, but continues to believe if he continues on his father will finally trust him, thus bringing us to the events of this chapter where Jr. manages to track down the real location of Lupin, mid-heist.
Also double thanks for taking the time to read this too :smill:

Sometimes, Lupin the Third gets a little unlucky, and fortune smiles on ol' Zenigata. That's all.
some vibes presented without elaboration
Weirdos
(Bonus under the cut)
Fujiko who takes Jigen clothes shopping with her because he couldn’t give two shits what she comes out of the changing room wearing and she can always count an honest opinion. bro is just SO unbothered he treats it like he’s critiquing a sculpture and she loves him for it
Like god bless Lupin and Goemon but sometimes she needs actual feedback instead of “AWOOGA GRR BARK BARK” or “You will look beautiful no matter what you decide to wear.”
Oh and she always uses the royal ‘we’ when she’s asking for Jigen’s thoughts. Like “okay, what do we think of this skirt?” or “We’ll need to get some warmer clothes this time since the next job is in Alaska”
he’s also her go-to for helping zip her dresses because Lupin would pull the zipper down instead of up (evil little fiend) and Goemon would spontaneously combust because she wouldn’t be able to resist messing with him
its on the house, officer 🍷
