I don't expect it to be the same. New cast, new crew, etc. And a whole different world out there 15 years later.
I do expect it to be GOOD.
If you've seen his newer shows, you know. I'm always so amazed at how it always feels like RTD’s world, like we're back at the Powell Estate with the Tylers even though it might be a completely different setting. Nothing feels quite like it, the way he writes families and love and loss.
And especially after the masterpiece that was Years and Years, I really want to see what he’s going to do with the current era. He must have big ideas and plans to have even considered this, and I bet he really wants to come back in with all these years of showrunning experience under his belt. AND joining back up with Julie Gardner who also has so much more production experience after all this time. The dream team!
Forget managing expectations! Right now anything seems possible!
ETA: Eight will be in the 60th Anniversary I can feel it
russelltdavies63 ROSE: THE PREQUEL. Designed as a Target paperback by @ratkins45, thank you! To explain, this was written for Doctor Who Magazine in early 2013, to show the Eighth Doctor regenerating into the Ninth. But! The Day of the Doctor script knocked that for six, continuity-wise, so this was buried deep. Until today! It’s a glimpse of parallel events... Brand new ROSE: THE SEQUEL tonight at 7.45!
