A few weeks back I was commissioned to do a Metal Gear Solid commission with Naked Snake from MGS3 and Old Snake from MGS4. It was fun to break out the inks and go town on this one. I used a G pen Nib and a Winsor & Newton 01. If I didn't already have two MGS prints, I'd color this up and make it into a print!
Metal Gear Solid was one of the first games that I knew was brilliant from the demo. I couldn't break away-I think I played the demo even more than the finished game. It was so fun to trick the soldiers and experiment with their AI to see who would follow you where, and how to hide from them. MGS was a modern masterpiece, and seeing how I payed tribute to the Final Fantasy series, I figured I'd give MGS some love too!
The finished print is available here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/203777232/metal-gear-solid-print?ref=shop_home_active_1
After finishing the Final Fantasy pieces, I had pay tribute to another of my favorite video game series. Metal Gear Solid has consistently been a blast to play and has had one of the most imaginative narratives for any medium. I'll have copies of the finished version of this on hand at Retropalooza in Arlington this weekend!
Today's photo is a post Dallas Comic-Con commission for Sarah Perske. She asked for Raiden from MGS: Rising, and while I've only played the demo, I was excited to get to draw all of Raiden's Tech! I originally went with the blue-grey palette the game has, then I mixed it up a bit.
Five new pictures up on www.cheshirecatart.com/gallery13.html ,if you count a variation as a picture, and a new episode of Super Audio Blogcast is up on the blog! Logan and I discuss DCC, and how much fun we had. Also, Dragon Slayer Volume 2 is well underway. I'm just a few pages shy of wrapping it up! Excitement!
