Idea I've had for a while, basically opposite types = opposite personalities! Decided to draw em as design practice Steel/Dark type Bede, Fighting type Marnie, and Eternatus Hop Some ideas for them under the cut

I love trying to envision Hops and Raihan's dynamic. They constantly annoy each other except Hop's distain is a little genuine and Raihan is not I hc Hop as someone who holds grudges very easily and for a long time. And this was worse when he was a kid lol. So you can imagine what his reaction was when he was 5 and first met Raihan, who tried to be playful and grab his wooloo plush which was a big no-no. So even though it's been 10 years Hop still holds a grudge against Raihan. -Raihan loves to annoy Hop in an older brother way. Ruffling his hair when he walks by or intentionally being annoying. He often uses Hop as an armrest when he's nearby -Hop has tried to kick Raihan in the knees many times through the years. Something always stops him or he misses -When Hop goes to Hammerlocke, he goes straight to the gym, not to see Raihan but to see the baby dragon types he takes care of (With context of Raihan x Leon) -Leon knows that Hop doesn't like Raihan so he tries to make small hangouts to get them to tolerate each other more. It does not work, especially when they go to eat because Raihan steals Hop's food. -Hop makes little comments about Leon breaking up with Raihan, it's a half-joke. (Context of cheeryfairy, Leon starts to do the same when Hop starts dating Bede and Hop says that if he breaks up with Raihan, he'll break up with Bede) -I also think that they do deeply care about each other, even though they bicker a lot, I think that Raihan is the one Hop goes to when he's upset. HEEYYYYYYY I love them

-I think they’re both very oblivious. Gordie tries his best to get Raihan to notice his advances while Raihan is constantly flirting. It is pain

-I think Raihan didn’t notice he liked Gordie at first, it was painfully obvious to everyone else. He just thought he was more attached to Gordie than his other friends. When he realized he felt like an idiot.

-Raihan is very physically affectionate, so as soon as they’re away from public’s eye, he’ll wrap his arms around Gordie and refuse to let go. When they’re dating, Raihan insists on cuddling. Gordie doesn’t mind.

-Raihan will randomly text Gordie at like 2 am, usually shitposts. He’ll also send pictures of his pokemon to him. He also spams him emojis.

-Gordie has problems sleeping, some small contant insomnia. When it gets bad, he’ll video call Raihan and talk till he falls asleep. Listening to Raihan’s voice helps him sleep.

-Gordie cooks, and he’s pretty good at it. Contrast with Raihan who goes out to eat as much as he can because he is too lazy to cook and the stuff at restaurants is better than what he can make. Gordie makes sure to send him some food at least a few times a week so that he doesn’t eat takeout so much and so that the groceries Raihan buys don’t go bad.

-Raihan is flirty but also easily flustered. He’ll start flirting with Gordie but as soon as he responds he just goes red. Gordie also loves messing with him.

-Raihan steals Gordie’s clothes. Do they fit? No. Does he look good in them? Yes

-Gordie’s a sore loser, so when he loses a battle and goes to lock himself in the lockers. Raihan will go and cheer him up, it usually works.

-Gordie can be pretty jealous some times, he tries to not show it (and tries to no get bothered by it) but it’s clear when he is. Raihan finds it cute

-Raihan makes breakfast for Gordie when he stays over since Gordie is not a morning person. He usually makes pancakes, he loves to make them into different shapes and he’ll write things on them occasionally.

-Raihan definitely makes ‘’Aww babe, you had a crush on me?’’ jokes to Gordie

-Gordie doesn’t really like to be public with his personal life, unlike Raihan, so their relationship isn’t public. Raihan also avoids publishing stuff that Gordie is uncomfortable with.

-They have movie nights every week where Gordie will come over to Raihan’s apartment to watch movies, sometimes it’s horror, bad movies, romance or thrillers. Both of them love horror movies even though Raihan gets jumpy after seeing them and Gordie has to stay with him.

-They’re t4t, trust me. Gordie’s a trans guy and Raihan’s genderfluid. Gordie has a lot of dysphoria, Raihan will do his best to cheer him up. Also sometimes Raihan will get stuck in his binder and Gordie has to go over to help him (personal experience; I get stuck in my binder all the time lol).

My favorite popular canon/fanon dynamics are, as you said the Milo Nessa Kabu friendship, Raihan and Nessa and Piers and Raihan friendship. Also Nessa and Sonia. But generally I have a few that I made bc I just like thinking on how they'd interact;

Leon n Oleana. I think they'd hate each other so much but they when they go drinking together it seems like they're best friends. I have more thoughts about it, idk something something about both of them having to deal with Rose and both knowing what it's like

Sonia nnn Piers. I think they're childhood best friends who lost touch in their teens and reconnected in the gym challenge. Sonia babysat Marnie when they were younger. Sonia was the first member of team yell, trust

I also need Sonia and Raihan to be best friends. why is there no content of this. they'd gossip like viejas chismosas and I know it

Idk if you could tell but I like Gordie and Raihan.

I think Gordie and Sonia should be frenemies. I have no idea why but it's super funny to me

I've also been considering Oleana's dynamic with other people. I like the contrast between chatty Raihan and a tired Oleana. Or Sonia trying to get Oleana to live a little.

I don't really think much about characters that aren't my favorites so I don't have many swsh gym leader thoughts, here's some of them though

Milo, I liked his gym challenge a lot, it's one of my favorites everytime I replay the game. I also like his design n team. I'm not crazy abvout him but very good. 7/10

NESSAA, i love her but god do I hate her gym challenge. I think she's a very fun character, i remember that on my first playthrough in 2018 she ghave me a hard time lol. 8/10

Kabu! I think his gym challenge is unique, plus it gives me a chance to catch fire types. I also like his whole aesthetic and vibe. 7/10

Bea, i don't dislike nor like her gym challenge, it's kinda like eh to me. I do like her design but to be honest she does not interest me that much. I was expecting her gigantamax machamp to be a fire type, was dissapointed 6/10

GORDIE!! I hate his gym challenge but i love him. I didn't care much for him before but after i replayed his gym recently and scrolled through some content of him, I should've sonner. Easily climbed up my rank of favorite characters. love his team to, his design is very cool. The only thing is that god does he need brow eye contacts. he looks like some bug without his visor. 10/10

Opal! what's not to love, I love her a lot. I also love her gym challenge and battle, it holds a special place in my heart. She ws genuinely one of my favorites back in 2018. 9/10

Piers, he's okay. LOOK I. I DO NOT CARE THAT MUCH FOR HIM TO BE HONEST. I love the vibe and stuff but the introduction is what killed him for me, he really needs his music. His team is good, I appreciate the malamar. uhhhh 7.5/10

Raihan, my wife. easily one of my favorite characters, LOOK AT HIM!!! i love his team, i always enjoy battling him beacuse he does double battles and I love double battles, also the weatyher thing is so neat. I don't like his gym challenge. I ALSO LOVE HIS LITTLE SMILE?? and how he goes feral during battles, i would die for him 11/10

Bede, I used to be obbessed with him back in 2018, I think he's okay now. I still do like him a lot but Hop has taken over the brainrot he had over me lol. I do like his arc, and love that he became the fairy gym leader. His design also gives him a big plus. I wish we had gotten more content of him tbh, while I do like it his arc felt a little. rushed? idk. 9/10

MARNIE!! i love marnie, but he should have not become a gym leader. idk if it's something personal but I cannot see Marnie as a dark type gym leader?? in the future??? Maybe it's just me but I felt like makign him a gym leader was something that came out of nowhere? Marnie never seemed like he wanted it and it looked a bit pushed onto him so??? ALSO I WISH WE HAD GOTTEN TO SEE MORE OF MARNIE??? i think he was the rival we saw least off, I will admit his personality in the game is a bit bland but hey the first thing the game did when introducing sonia was to say she was good at cooking so what do I know. I love marnie, wish we got more of him. 10/10
