she and her family have been displaced multiple times, and are suffering from multiple health issues. her mother is suffering from a very painful back injury, a sloped disc to be specific, and cannot recieve any treatment because of the ruthless agression of the imperialists.

Reason number 1000 that landlords are the worst: My landlord has had it out for me since September of this year. She claims I owe her $300 for “rewriting the lease” but I have never seen an official documentation that I signed that states I owe this amount of money. She then said she would send it to collections but never did. She is now trying to use this as a reason for us to get evicted even though this $300 fee is not written in the lease or mentioned in any official paperwork.

Furthermore, she claims there is a cat urine smell. Everyone who has come to my apartment has not said they smell said smell and there have also been no complaints from downstairs neighbors. I have also had the carpet deep cleaned twice now. She’s also extremely unprofessional and rude. She told me I am no longer allowed to contact her through phone or text but only email communication (meaning if there was an emergency she might not see that email until during the business day).

She allegedly inspected our apartment but has never entered the property as we have proof via security camera and ring doorbell camera she never did. There has not been an ongoing cat urine issue as the last time she is referring to was in June 2023.

Finally, I am tasked with needing to pay a plumber bill because, quote, “the plumbing was the tenants fault”. But ther plumber did not tell us that this was our fault or that a clog was the reasoning. I now owe $495 which is a ridiculous amount of money.

muhammad is only 26. he's younger than i am. it breaks my heart that this is something he has to worry about. unfortunately, it is, and he's got his family to worry about too:

they've lost their home in the war. they are currently displaced in deir al balah. iman and toleen have gotten sick due to the conditions in the camp they're staying in. look at these sweet girls; they don't deserve this.

they deserve a home. they deserve warmth and safety. they deserve a cozy bed to sleep in every night, and a home to decorate with star-shaped lights like they had before.

this is not merely a dream they have; it is an attainable goal.

ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help

Operation Olive Branch has a spreadsheet dedicated to mutual aid, local distro, community kitchens, etc. in Gaza.

This is a good place to start if seeking to donate to a community resilience action. Just contact the group(s) directly to make sure they are still active. Life in Gaza and Palestine is full of uncertainty.
