You know your non-canon ship is good when the canon shippers have been hating on it constantly for 5, 10, 15, 20+ YEARS. All over a NON-EXISTENT SHIP. TO THEM.

Y’see, this is a major problem with shipping in fandoms. People so mad at seeing 1/2 of their ship with someone else in a single fanart that they start hating/wishing death on that character. It’s the fakest fan bullshit ever.
I’ve no dog in this fight since JJK is that type of show where there’s more death than romance, like 1/2 of the ship has a 75% chance of dying. So, can y’all just be respectful and not act like fake fans and start hating on the character you supposedly like when u see a fanart of another ship with them? It’s embarrassing to see, honestly.
What people need to understand when defending their fave ships, they should defend both sides of it. Explain why Person A likes Person B and vice versa. Cuz if you only constantly explain one side, it’s just blatant projection on their part. They don’t care about the actual ship; they themselves just want to be Person A/B so they can imagine themselves with Person B/A.
When you realize there are canon shippers on Instagram that ship Dean/Seamus, Lavender/Parvati, and Sirius/Remus and they still have the audacity to have a problem Harmony, either that it ruins the “boys and girls can just be friends” argument or that “Harry and Hermione had no romantic interest in each other”when their shipping pairings that have the very same “issues” as Harmony but worse because there’s no real sustenance in them. It’s incredible. In their little fandom world, “friends” do not exist; there are either lovers or siblings.
“As much as I love book Hermione” is the same as “I’m not racist but” crowd and then they say something racist, because they mean the exact opposite of what they are saying.
And it’s so interesting how Romione shippers are adamant in showing how unlikable Hermione is. And it’s really something else when they see someone showing their dislike for Ron, brushing the person’s analysis off by saying it’s because of the movies’ influence on Ron. You don’t get that kind of reaction when someone criticizes Hermione. Anyway, the point is Ron’s favorability level with Romione shippers is so high and far than how much they like Hermione.
One shipping philosophy l believe in is that you should like the 2 characters you ship together equally, or at least close enough. I do. And I also don’t feel the need the one-up half the ship over the other for some reason. That’s a dub in my books.
I think a good way to see how a relationship ship is healthy is imagining how they would tell their kid(s) their whole entire love story. If they have to lie, distort, or make it seem less questionable or “red-flaggy” of what happened, you’ll get an idea of how healthy that relationship is.

What is this lmao? You do realize there are "x ship is better than y ship" people in every fandom regardless whether canon or non-canon.
And, as for me calling other ships "shit", that is complete bullshit. I have never once called any ship "shit" on this blog. Unless you are new to this blog and have only seen my earlier posts from today, the only post of mine with the word "shit" in it, which I was calling the canon romance storylines "shit" because, in all honesty, romance that's only important towards the end of the story that is underdeveloped and rushed is shitty storytelling.
