Thanks to @got-to-rise-above for the heads up on the Hot Tuna live stream from The Capitol Theater. A wonderful show and a nice treat to see them still performing. I saw Hot Tuna twice at The Auditorium Theater in Chicago in the mid 70′s. The first time was just Jorma (acoustic guitar) and Jack (electric bass) playing a set very similar to the first Hot Tuna album. About a year later, I saw them again, and they had entered into their hard rock stage and played a very loud show with lots of jamming. I don’t remember how long the show was, but they had already gone well past their allotted time and were being told they needed to wrap it up. Jorma then said, “We were told we could play one more song. We weren’t told how long the song could be.” They proceeded to play a very long jam and continued playing even as the house lights were turned on and the roadies came on stage and started packing up some of their gear. Not long after that, Hot Tuna went idle until the mid 80′s, but I have not been able to catch them again, so it was cool to see the live stream show.
