Gogol Bordello Plays a Secret Gig in Ukraine
Happy Independence Day America! Rock out on the 4th!
I’m kicking the United States Independence Day weekend with that Great American ,Chuck Berry, who is all over the map on this song.
Happy Independence Day!
With Independence Day just a few days away, I am going to hark back to 1976 when everyone was in a frenzy over the American Bicentennial. With that in mind, I’m kicking off the weekend with Frank Zappa and The Mothers along with Captain Beefheart previewing the merchandising bonanza that corporate Americas was about to undertake.
T-shirt racks, rubber snacks, Poster rolls with matching tacks, Yes, a special beer for sports, And paper cups that hold two quarts!
Happy Independence Day to the USA!
I’m kicking off this Independence Day weekend/week with a great American artist, Chicago Blues-man Muddy Waters. This song is produced by, and features the guitar work of another great Blues-man, Texan Johnny Winter.
I’m kicking off this USA Independence Day weekend with a great American band, Creedence Clearwater Revival.
I can remember the 4th of July...
You Say You Want A Revolution?
Today we celebrate a group of American revolutionists and their signing of the Declaration of Independence which led to the American Revolutionary War against England and eventually independence from the British Empire. Happy Birthday America!
I’m kicking of the 4th of July weekend with that All-American band, The Beach Boys, and one of my fav’s, Little Deuce Coupe. Clocking in at a snappy one minute and forty-one seconds, the clever lyrics and catchy melody make this song a Rock ‘n’ Roll classic.
She’s got a competition clutch with the four-on-the-floor and she purrs like a kitten till the lake pipes roar...
Have a safe and happy Independence Day!
Grateful Dead - U.S. Blues
On the 239th birthday of the USA, the Grateful Dead will be in Chicago playing one of their three final shows before calling it a career. I was fortunate to see them a couple of times in the ‘70′s and several times in the 80′s and early ‘90′s. So let’s start this Independence Day weekend by kicking it off with a classic song from this great American Rock band! We can all use a little U.S. Blues!
Happy Independence Day!
