“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.”

2 Timothy 1:7

I am a pretty shy person when it comes to talking with people I don’t know very well. One of my daily prayers is for God to give me the opportunity to speak life and love into someone new who needs it, the words to say to that person, and the courage to say the words He gives me. I started praying that prayer about a month ago and since then, I’ve talked to so many new people! It’s pretty amazing what God will do if you ask Him to talk away your timidity.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16

To me, this verse reminds me that I don’t have to go around preaching or forcing religion on people. Others can experience Christ in my life through my actions. I need to be filled with God so that He will shine through me onto other people. That is my prayer today.
