Another unexpected visitor today.

This little guy is a Ringneck Snake. This is about as big as he gets. He’s toxic, so animals don’t care to eat him. The orange ring around his neck and sunset-colored ventral (it transitions gradually from red to yellow) warns predictors to stay away.

Ok, snake people and herpetologists near Spokane WA, this snake here is in a bit of a dilemma. Apparently, some asshole abandoned or released this 11 foot albino reticulated python, which was then discovered in an apartment, underweight and with burns on it from trying to wrap around a heater to escape from the cold.

The city has nowhere to put this animal, the owner isn’t likely to come get her, and unless someone steps up she’s going to be euthanized after the time window has passed.

I’d imagine a snake of this size and color must be worth something to SOMEbody out there, and she seems to be pretty tame, as the article didn’t mention her lashing out at any of the people trying to rescue her during this ordeal. So, snake owners, herpetologists, breeders, collectors, anyone out there with room for her, would you give this poor thing a chance?

Signal boosting.  Would they ship to TX?  Lol.

Guys, please signal boost. Everyone does it for dogs and cats, but our reptile friends deserve a chance too.

aaagh poor baby ;_;

signal boost, i really hope someone can take her and give her an actual home

You cannot trade these animals across state borders after they became a problem as an invasive species in the Everglades, so no they wouldn’t ship to Texas.

Actually you sure as shit can ship Retics across state borders. The Lacey Act only includes Burms, Anacodas and some Rock Pythons. For a girl this size it'd be hella expensive tho.

Keep in mind these guys are HUGE and have crazy feeding responses. Please only come pick her up if you have experience with large constrictors!

One of your photos is labeled common boa, boa constrictor imperator. I have seen many boas and many pythons. Though I am no expert, I see a python in this photo based on the shape of the head. Boas and pythons have very different head shapes, and this snake has the distinctive shape of a python.

if its this one, no, they are definitely a imperator pair! Typically, yes pythons have a rounder shape head while boas tend to be more “arrow", but depending on the photo and species (bloods look really boa-y, for example) its not a perfect rule. I can usually tell by the pattern.
