- David is the young shepherd who slung the stone through the giant's head.

- in Dominion, it was real. David was another one of those "chosen children". Special power and a great destiny. Gabriel ( walking among humans as a mortal ) was his mentor / caregiver in ancient times.

- His newfound popularity put King Saul at unease. He became jealous, inviting David to the palace under the guise of playing his lyre for the court. This, too, short-lived.

- Instead, Saul cornered and threw the boy from the castle ramparts. Michael was too late to catch him.

- Gabriel comes home, frantic, after celebration in the streets, having lost sight of David, and is told by Michael that Saul had put a false boy-king on the throne.

- Michael moves aside and that's when he sees David's lifeless body, bloodied. Gabriel begins to cry, sob and wail, clutching the small form to him. Upon morning burial, this became the start of his disillusionment with humanity.
