Hey, the ACLU is getting people to send letters to your Reps to have Congress pass the No Kings Act.

This bill is to ensure that even sitting presidents are held liable for their actions. That NOBODY is above the law.

Their goal is 150k messages sent and at the time of writing this they're about 2.1k off from that goal!

ACLU gives you a prefilled message that you can edit to send to make the process easier, and will send it out for you.

This only takes a few minutes!

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY | 2x07 – “Attack Ad” I do not agree with anything in that commercial. I just think that we need to find a different way to get what we want. If we stoop to their level, we’re no better than they are.

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY | 3.11 – “Double Date” I have to say, usually reading discussions expand the mind. But this seems to have only reinforced your existing and troubling viewpoints.

yo hey US people who sent in absentee ballots, they are tossing mail-in ballots for no reason. i just had to call my county board of elections and demand a cure for my ballot because north carolina didn't send out any notices of issues with ballots, and the issues are fake. if you voted by mail-in make sure your ballot was actually counted

If your ballot was NOT counted or isn't listed on the tracking site yet, call your county clerk! Today! Right now! Their number will be available on your county's website or even on the tracking website for your state (mine was, not sure about other states)!

Phone calls suck but this is NOT something that you can use email for. Ballot curing when available has a time limit, usually 3-5 days after the election, so even if the tracking site says that it can take time to list your voter activity, calling and making sure is absolutely still worth it. Just remember to be polite and calm on the call.

A Pragmatic and surprisingly comforting perspective about the Trump 2nd Presidency from the ACLU

***Apologies if this is how you found out the 2024 election results***

Blacked out part is my name.

I’m not going to let this make me give up. It’s disheartening, and today I will wallow, probably tomorrow too

AND

I will continue to do my part in my community to spread the activism and promote change for the world I want to live in. I want to change the world AND help with the dishes.

And I won’t let an orange pit stain be what stops me from trying to be better.

A link to donate to the ACLU if able and inclined. I know I am

I started donating monthly to the ACLU back in 2016, when The Angry Orange was first elected. I've never stopped. It's not much ($10 a month) but I've never once felt inclined to stop, because they are there doing this work. And they're not the only ones, either. I'm still numb, but once I move past this phase of things, I'm planning to figure out how I can get involved locally. My 80-year-old aunt has been working with the League of Women Voters and the Democratic party for years...I'll start by asking her where I should start, but I'd be grateful for any suggestions. I'm an adult, but other than voting, I've never gotten involved involved. But now feels like the time!
