hey tysm im really glad you enjoy my work!! I use CSP which imo is godly and here are the brush sets+brushes i normally default to!
I like using the Artemus set for sketching and mostly use the thiccpaint set for painting, and a couple of the thickcoat set for harder lines i can't really get w/ thiccpaint. Here's an example of the ones I like to use (asterisk for the ones I use most often) and how they look on a 6x6 page at 100% zoom, 30pt size! (they should all be at default settings)

genuine question! what's the brush u used for the background on the mordetwi fanart? i've been trying to find a csp brush with that texture for a long time and couldn't find anything. (also, that piece looked really nice!)

I specifically use #8 and #9 for my mordetwi fanart! It's a really good brushset in general imo; big fan of the gritty texture feel + was probably one of the easier sets for me to transition from sai->csp with!

OK so funny story (or not so funney) the last piece for the set was gonna be eevee+shiny eevee but my schedule got super full (since this was a very last minute project tbh) and it was a drag on my health to manage that, on top of commissions and deadlines for private projects :(
I got as far as a color draft so maybe someday it'll resurface, but likely not anytime soon since I'm still prioritizing private projects and my comms queue!

How you draw them are there powers literal like Fireheart being on fire etc???
For how I approach cats, while I don’t have a consistent design outside of my favorite (hollyleaf; and that’s just me making holly-shaped patterns for her silhouette), usually when i wanna draw specific warrior cats I pull up the wiki for stuff (personality/canon descriptions/actions/their name) and incorporate it into how I imagine them!
As for fireheart - I drew him a while back with the fire like look:
and it’s something I really liked tbh so that carries over into some of my other stuff with him. As for him having literal fire powers/being on fire- it’s not something i’ve considered before! Definitely a fun idea to play with, but IDK if i wanna do that for him; ik the prophecy hypes him up as someone special but I like the “everyman” vibe this dude has! Like he’s just Some Dude bluestar brought into the clans, and doesn’t really have a legacy to live up to (like his descendants) or was born with special powers (the three) - and i feel like giving him actual fire “powers” would detract from that, personally!
tl;dr it’s purely an aesthetic choice re: fireheart; and I’d love to play it up in more dramatic scenes eg thunderclan fire rescue/vs scourge/racing against the dogs

As far as pen pressure go I absolutely skip the lineart step b/c i dont enjoy it so i dont rlly... Put Myself Thru It If I Dont Have To BUT in regards 2 line weight variation I do think a big part of it boils down to:
- Where you want to put emphasis/draw the gaze to
-weight/ weight distribution; like if something is directly in contact w/ another surface I might push the line weight there, or if someone’s putting more weight on one foot than the other
- dynamism: kind of like what they do in anime/manga? Like if i’m drawing a punch, I would want to put heavier lines on their arm/fist to create a sense of action and (going back to the previous point) weight within a flat image
-hard vs soft edges
-shadow: things going toward the shadows might have heavier line emphasis and vice versa for thinner lines. These are all off the top of my head and usually work for me - I do think a part of it comes down to personal preference/what looks good and/or feels right but a part of it is also adhering to some of the stuff listed above.
I’d definitely also recommend looking into your favorite artists AND famous artists and noting how they deal with LWV (line weight variation). I think one avenue I’d recommend checking out is fashion art. If there’s more I can clarify on or help with def feel free to hmu via inbox or DM!!
