More qualified people than me have commented on the racism inherent in That One Choice for Taash, so I'll keep my commentary limited to this:

It is a deeply, deeply strange narrative choice to have a scene about how Taash can be neither man nor a woman, but a third thing in between, and in the middle of it force them to choose one culture over the other, presented as a binary choice with no grey area available.

Like. Absolutely it is racist. It's also thematically contradictory and narratively bullshit.

so like. did the lords of fortune kidnap these antaam we're fighting in their arena, or

I love how they put so much effort into making this faction Moral Pirates tm with all the sensitivity training and whatnot but then the lords have transparently been dealing with their prisoners by locking them in an arena and forcing them to fight rook to the death for gambling purposes. stellar. the exact level of ethical consistency that I expect from bioware

I guess one credible explanation for how/why the Veil Jumpers came into existence is precisely that after the events of Trespasser, Lavellan and/or the other Dalish in the Inquisition took the information to the arlathvhen. Most people probably didn't believe them, but if enough people cared enough to form a group dedicated to entering old ruins specifically to look for this kind of information, then by 9:52 or whatever the year is now the Veil Jumpers specifically would have enough info to be fairly sure it's true? Maybe?

Holy shit game, you can't just drop this dialogue and not expect me to have a million questions!

Why did the Dalish start the Veil Jumpers? When did they start the Veil Jumpers? Is it just the Dalish of Arlathan forest or is this a wider known thing? I know that in the Tevinter Nights 'Three Trees to Midnight' story, Strife and Irelin sent word to other Dalish clans in Rivain, but how far did their knowledge spread? Did the Dalish just all really universally agree to stop worshipping the Creators based on what they discovered? What exactly did they discover that led them to this drastic change in their entire belief system? Oh my god...
