Today, she was a commentator on the Gymnastics Individual All Around, in which Rebeca Andrade won the first ever Olympic Medal on women's gymnastics for Brazil.

what the fuck happened in Brazil?
this is a quick version of the previous “what’s going on in Brazil?” posts cause as a Brazilian right now I don’t have the mental health to write about any of this at length, so.
WHAT YOU GOTTA KNOW:
The Federal government (yeah, the Bolsonaro government) has in the past few weeks gotten accused of:
- Putting up a fraudulent contract to buy the vaccine from Covaxin at 100% more than it’s original price resulting in millions of dollars of overcharge presumably so that this money could end up with one of their favored companies
- Trying to induce the company that distributes the AZ covid vaccine to include a 1 dollar per dose bribe in 200-300 MILLION doses otherwise they wouldn’t buy it (and they didn’t)
- Ignoring about 81 e-mails from Pfizer over the past year trying to sell vaccines, presumably because they were more interested in buying whichever other one they could steal with while doing so
- This, among the president not wearing masks in public, minimizing the pandemic, going against social isolation, and defending the hydroxicloroquine to this DAY (June/2021) as a way to fight covid have resulted in over 500.000 brazilians dead of covid
- All of this is being investigated by a committee at the Senate and there are multiple impeachment processes being filled (whether any of them will be accepted by the chairman, who is an ally to the government, is a whole other problem)
