we shouldnt only gatekeep AAVE, but we should also gatekeep Patois, Pidgin, Gullah, Haitian creole and any other black languages/dialects because it was born out of slavery and colonization. these languages/dialects are necessary to our survival. nonblack people speaking any of these is a mockery of our struggle.
