Adobe Illustrator: Align objects, Arrange objects, Toggle edges and bounding box visibility, Control opacity, Play iTunes media. Joystick flips selected object horizontally or vertically, and resets bounding box on click. Joystick buttons are for the .5 pt and 2 pt stroke width.

Opacity slider for Adobe Illustrator

Slider potentiometer.
Teensy PCB.
Patch them together and upload the firmware.
Open Ai, go to Edit → Keyboard Shortcuts, search for the ‘Opacity’ and assign the keys.
Use midiStroke for the MIDI-to-keystrokes conversion. Add MidiPipe if you need to use more than one controller for your setup.
Done. Unfortunately it is discrete (0% → 10% → 20% → ...) and a bit sluggish (but so the Palette Gear is) but worth trying if you like having physical controllers for the stuff like this.
