Ghostly ribbons
my special birthday present to me is forcing everyone to revisit some of the stuff I wrote for my absolutely batshit bananas Danny Phantom/Ben 10/Deadpool crossover I have, because it’s absolutely the best work I’ve ever done, and I wish I had more time to make more of it
ok THIS is the specific post making the rounds. I actually feel like I’ve made all the funny moments compilations Ive earned at this point, but if you want to see more my tag for it is #follow ur crossover dreams.
most of the writing is getting dangerously close to 2 years old now, but a lot of the jokes are still some of my favorites Ive ever written, so like…enjoy it, but don’t think too hard because it IS literally based on a dream I had.
This scenario keeps playing on repeat in my head.
AH I HADN’T SEEN THIS ADDITION!!!!! I LOVE IT THANK U SO MUCH
I feel like danny phantom would be just as popular as avatar if they actually try to be a little dark
I wouldn't say it would be completely pg-13 ultra gritty it would be just like generator rex, it has some body horror and deep topics while still maintaining to be kids show
i think of this because it still has a fanbase to this day, and when you look at the fandom, it seems like they like the show's concept a lot more than the show itself, and they all brainstorm some story ideas based on the show's concept
hell of a ride
It’s been a week since the accident. Danny knows he isn’t a ghost. After all, ghosts are dead, and he sure isn’t.
Written for Day 10 of Ectoberhaunt:Mummy| Doppelganger
Danny Fenton was not dead, somehow.
He didn’t really understand what had happened in his parents’ portal last week, but he refused to call himself dead. Because he wasn’t dead! He was just a little… ghost adjacent? Just a regular human experiencing a few unnatural side effects from being caught in the start-up of an interdimensional gateway. Sure, sometimes his body slipped through solid objects and he floated a few inches off the floor but that didn’t mean he was a ghost! The side effects would wear off, eventually!
Because if they didn’t wear off, Danny wouldn’t know what to do. How could he admit to his ghost-hunting parents that he had ghost powers? How could he admit that to anyone?
It’d been a week and the symptoms hadn’t lessened at all. In fact, it seemed like they were getting worse. That morning, Danny had woken up to the sound of the coffee machine cutting on, the high whir of the heating element resounding through the kitchen. He knew for a fact that he hadn’t fallen asleep on the kitchen floor. He’d fallen asleep in his own bed, one floor above. He couldn’t make sense of it until he realized he must’ve phased through the floor, his affliction affecting him even as he slept.
He hated this! What if he slipped up? What if someone saw?
For the most part, his parents had been too busy with the portal to notice his symptoms. Jazz was too wrapped up in her studies to even cast a glance in his direction. Sam and Tucker were the only people that noticed anything was wrong and that was because they’d seen it happen. They were his lifeline at school, keeping him from sinking through the floor and pinching him whenever he slipped out of the visible spectrum. He didn’t know how he would manage without them. Still, he could tell they were stressed, exhausted. The sooner Danny’s side effects wore off, the better.
(They were just side effects—he wasn’t a ghost! He couldn’t be!)

Rewrite idea
Considering how Danny became a ghost, I can imagine he'd have developed a bit of electrophobia(fear of electricity)⚡️
TW Flash, mentions of trauma, panic attack and seizures.
He was ELECTROCUTED and good chance probably saw his own life flash before his eyes and ended up half dead and experienced ALL that as a 14 YR OLD! Its safe to assume the boy's got some trauma from that.
I can imagine the experience made him far more wary of things with electricity, not to the point that he's afraid of using electronics or other things with electrify but far more careful, like staying away from exposed wires, would avoid adding too many plugs into an outlet, getting outlet covers, wouldn't go into the Lab alone and if he did wouldn't be in there too long, etc. He could've even developed a fear of thunderstorms due to fearing he could get struck by lightning⛈️ ⚡️
I can imagine he'd also be shaken from things like bright flashing lights, similar to the flash he saw from the accident. Could even end up having things like panic attacks or even seizures due to the incident.
I can imagine villains like Technus and Vortex would be the biggest for him to handle as their powers could trigger his trauma far more than the other ghosts, Technology/electricity, weather/storms. A lot of ghost attacks look like shocks, I can imagine that could shake him up.
People who've been electrocuted can end up with all sorts of long term physical and mental damage and while I can imagine Danny becoming a ghost ended up lessening the damage he'd normally experience as a human(good chance it saved him from becoming a full ghost) I can imagine damage was still done to him, in ways he might not even realize himself. I think it'd be an interesting thing to dicuss and try to tackle if DP ever came back.
What do u think? Do you think Danny could have trauma from becoming Phantom? I'd love to know💖
my another own take on danny phantom (I might changing some stuffs from my previous post)
- I feel like danny's story is more about a dead kid finally coming to terms with his dead and finally finishing his unfinished business
- not really vibing on the idea of danny being half dead and half alive (idk I find it a little complicated) but I also like the idea that danny is actually dead but he just believes that the portal just gives him ghost powers (he'll probably slowly realize it)
- his unfinished business (also called obsession in fandom terms I think??) is fixing something, since he basically broke the portal it's his responsibility to fix everything
- I probably stole this idea but he broke the portal out of frustration to prove to everyone that the portal is a complete baloney (it's probably because of the bullying he went through because of how people view his parents, and he's grown distant of them)
finally some my canon stuffs
- this is also a popular headcanon but the reason danny has ghostly wail is because he died screaming in the portal
- he can take his body parts off just fine (got this idea from that unproducted(?) episode headless in seattle)
- he went ghost when he's really angry or lose control because he's not focusing alive
- there are some people telling him that he's actually dead, and he's in denial about it, and he gets really annoyed by it
- oh and he's stuck at 14 yrs, ghosts can't age
anything???
Does anyone have/know of any AO3 fics where it's Danny interacting with either the justice league or the batfam ect. and he's super casual and open about being a dead kid and they're just horrified/sad that this is a dead child.
Like I imagine he's excited to talk about his powers with other super's and he's talking about his ghostly wail:
Danny: "and I have this really cool scream power, I call it my ghostly wail. None of the other ghosts have it, I think it's cuz I died screaming but idk. 🤷♂️
Everyone else: horrified silence 😰
Danny: "Oh yeah, my parents don't know about me being dead either, like they see me as phantom practically every day and yet they still don't know It's me HA! I guess they're too busy shooting me to recognize me. It's been years of just. "Let's destroy that ecto-scum!" "No jack, let's capture it so we can study it!" "You're right honeybun, let's rip it apart molecule by molecule!" Dude you would not believe how funny it is watching them run around like headless chickens when I'm invisible haha!"😂
Everyone else: horrified silence again 😰
Danny:"Oh yeah I never got a grave. My parents still haven't noticed I'm dead yet. Which is weird cuz I died at home in our basement like TWO YEARS AGO. They turned it into a lab and they built this machine buuut they thought it didn’t work. *says the rest like it's a funny story* but they-haha-they put the on and off button!-snort- they put it on the inside so-ha- so when I went in and I tripped? I-giggle- I fell right on it!! And it-it flooded my body with soooo much electricity that IT KILLED ME!! So now I have super powers! hahaha like isn't that crazy? Ha I'd like to see you guys have a better origin story. Whew *wipes tears of laughter *
Everyone else: horrified silence again 😰
Someone *Sadly*: "How-how old were you? When... you died?"
Danny *swinging his feet and humming a cheery tune*: Oh it was on my 14th birthday. My friends came over celebrate with me and they were gonna take a picture of me in the machine but then I accidentally turned it on. And POW! Dead.
Everyone else: horrified silence once again 😰
Imagine going to Amity Park and your relative who lives there hands you a picture of Phantom and below the picture reads
Yesterday I couldn't sleep after seeing Dune in theatre so I made a Danny Phantom rewrite in my head. I always wanted the show to be deeper and more mature, you know, serious issues, learning how to navigate unwelcoming world and all that stuff. I ended up making it more angst lol. I already wrote most of first chapter but I'm super curious what would you change :>
So here's what I'm thinking:
- Ghosts are "unfinished business" merged with plasma, intention so strong it lingers after death. When it meets ectoplasm, it changes into the shape of the intention + the owner of it. They're animated ectoplasm with a single goal: an obsession. The longer they exist, the less human they are.
- Danny’s obsession is fixing, due to the fact he died trying to fix the portal to try to fix his family. He was unstable at first, lacking purpose, but once he realized he wants to fix his mistake and protect Amity, it stabilized him.
- Danny accidentally opens the portal, and now it can’t be closed, since the off button is behind the portal. The ghost comes to the living world and Danny thinks it’s his fault. He feels the need to fix it.
- Right after opening the portal he can't control his anger and fear as a ghost so he runs away to the forest and is found 5 days later.
- Ghost don't belong in living world, just like humans in ghost, so they need to recharge in Ghost zone. Because Danny’s only a half ghost he just needs to be close the portal. If ghost consume their power entirely, they disappear, half ghost change back to human form, unless they force themselves/are forced to stay in ghost form.
- Danny’s room is located above the portal, thanks to that he recharges while sleeping. + The room is space themed, because he loves space.
- After the accident, he gets a bit paler than he was before. His pulse and body temperature are below normal.
- There’s a Lichtenberg scar covering the right side of his body from the accident, going from his shoulder over his back, neck, and knee. It wraps behind the ear on his forehead, only delicately visible, but Danny covers it with his hair. He gets called Harry Potter puns, like closet boy, because of that.
- His fangs are sharper and more prominent, even in human form.
- At first he has problems controlling his strength, for example he bit a glass and shattered it by accident, because he was zoning out.
- Accident triggered Danny's joint problems as well as injured his right knee. He suffers chronic pain, a headache disorder and mild cognitive impairments in memory, attention, and mood regulation. He had multiple physically aggressive outbursts since the injury, but he never hurt anyone.
- Danny is mathematically “gifted”, Tucker technologically and Sam literary. That’s why people pick on them. From an outsider's point of view, they have it easier. After the accident, Danny is acknowledged as disabled, but he "doesn't look like he really is". They are different, and school achievements comes easy to them. Their parents are pretty neglectful, so they can do whatever they want. People get jealous.
- Due to being a ghost you can't stare at Phantom too long, your brain will struggle to comprehend what it's seeing. The longer you spend with a ghost, the easier it is to see them. All ghosts are like that.
- Ghost can finish their unfinished business and disappear.
I have many more ideas, but that's all I'm going say for now :>
So, what would you want to see in a rewrite?
One of my favourite ideas to poke at is a reverse Nobody Knows AU
As in Everybody but Danny knows that Phantom is Fenton because Danny died all the way and came back as a normal ghost.
Has no clue who he was. Still acts the same, still protects people, thinks bullies and assholes are losers and tries to save the day with the least property damage and civilian injury possible, but has no clue why people get so sad around him. He just assumes he has an aura he doesn't notice.
He spends some the little downtime he has not fighting other ghosts haunting the school when it's empty and hanging out invisibly in the sky when it's not. He hangs out a lot in the observatory and breaks into the Fenton's basement often. Usually just poking around and never actively malicious. He has no clue how he feels like he knows how their stuff works, but he does.
The Fentons themselves are actually pretty nice to him. He thanks them every now and again for shooting at the other guys but not him (even though their aim sucks). To him, they're Ms. Maddie and Mr. Jack. They never had the heart to tell him anything else.
Tucker and Sam don't become friends with Phantom again right away, of course, considering he popped out on the ghost side of the portal, but they are one of the first people to meet him.
It's incredibly early on, between when the Fentons get their first ghost detectors running, and before they even got a headstone on the grave. (closed, empty casket, of course) Phantom's started his hero career scaring muggers, returning lost kids to their parents, and the like.
Sam and Tucker came to the Graveyard to give their friend a little visit before the school year could begin, and what do you know? The sensors Jack and Maddie gave them are going off before they even step past the gate.
Being the brave little teens they are, they go in anyways after deciding there's no immediate danger and they'll probably be fine.
Only to find their very dead best friend looking very alive and chilling on his own unmarked grave.
He looks at them with zero recognition in his eyes (but an odd feeling that he knows these two and that they're safe) and excitedly asks them if they knew who was buried there, before realising that Oh wait these people are sad, apologises, and asks if they were here to mourn at this grave cause he had no issues leaving them alone.
Sam recovers first, laughs a little bit as much as it hurts, cause this is their friend, he's here, and they tell him there's no issue because it belongs to him.
They expect they'll have to answer some questions and give him the whole story about how they were his best friends and then he died, but he pretty much just goes "Huh, neat!" and goes back to chilling.
By this point Sam and Tuck are well and convinced that Yup, this is Danny. They have introductions and say that they'll see each other around soon.
Sam and Tucker are just as amazing at the deflection game as Danny is, so they adjust to their friend being a ghost now surprisingly well.
Potential wrench to throw in things. What if Danny is still a halfa in this, but his human side was damaged in his accident. He’s completely stuck in his ghost form until his human side recovers.
No one but Vlad (and Clockwork) knows of the existence of halfas so everyone Danny included think he’s a normal ghost.
WC: 3.5k
"Hello? Mrs. Maddie?" Phantom sticks his head through the front door, weary of waiting on the porch. He's not sure what's inside the cardboard box, but Clockwork's package for the Fentons is heavy. "Mr. Jack?"
This is awesomely!!

My very own take of danny phantom ✌️
I kinda get why nick wouldn't want him to be dead but the concept of danny actually half died really fascinates me, so much story potential there, this idea has been running in my for a while now
my main idea is that Danny didn't know that he was actually dead, he just believes that the portal just gave him ghost powers, and his physical body being weak and gets cold easily is just a side effect to it
slowly he'll realize that his actually dead and his physical body is just slowly deteriorating (kinda morbid lol)
danny is actually half dead, but he won't last long
moments before disaster:
