I now LOVE archery, I find it a very therapeutic sport. I would be taken away for a couple of hours before we started filming to get back into the rhythm so that it was a fluid movement of picking up the bow and then the arrows and just being able to make it look as authentic as possible.

I’m grateful to my red hair now. And I doubt I’d have been offered half the roles I’ve played without it. It helps you stand out in the crowd in ways that used to make me cry when I was the only ‘ginger’ in a 40-mile radius at school. Now I’ve reached an age where I know it’s OK to be different.
