And what makes you 100% sure that Jon is TKIN won't happened in the books ??? do you really think that it won't happened that Jon I might accept it when the Northern Lords makes him the kin ??? the Jon hate is really awful and annoying I got sick of idiots like you who rebel when something you want doesn't happened like Sansa QINT !!!!

Hello to you too! I am having a wonderful day, thanks for asking. I would usually not reply to something like this but you clearly care a lot about what I have to say since you sent me not one or two but three messages.

First of all I do have something very important to say, the fact that something is canon, does not make it a truth for everyone nor something that can’t be changed or altered. Fandom is meant to be transformative, fandom is meant to be made out of people that demand more that those racist, homophobe and misogynistic writers give to us. I will not apologize for “rebelling” (as you put it yourself) and wanting changed something that was unapologetically sexist and no one should have to ever feel attacked by canon purists such as yourself.

On a side note, I think you misunderstood the purpose of my fixing game of thrones series, which is partly intended to fix mistakes done by showrunners in relation to the books (such as the cast of the sand snakes) but sometimes it just consists of thing I wish had happenned (like Rickon and Shireen falling in love).I get to do both of those things because canon is not law, and as an independent mind I have a right to do whatever I want with that material, and so should you.

Secondly, I have never and will never hate on Jon Snow, he is one of my favorite characters, and a big part of the reason why I still watch the show. Because I like Jon Snow I don’t like his characterization being thrown off a window.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day. I would try to find myself something to do with my free time if I were you, however, you clearly do have a lot of it.

PS. What is a funng? I am really curious.

D&D have not made a mess of the northern storyline. It's fucking amazing and my fave this season. Having Sansa take fake Arya's place did actually make sense. It brought her back in the north where she belongs. No one gives af about the vale. And the houses ignoring their pledge to the starks? Again makes sense. All of their arguments were valid and this fight isn't supposed to be an easy one. They're facing challenges which MAKES SENSE. Probs gonna be the same in the books.

I highly doubt that, but whatever floats your boat.

LMAO, Anon, have you read the books?

The Northern houses are all united behind Stannis for the chance to save “valiant Ned’s precious little girl.” Jon was the one who gave Stannis advice on courting their favor, explicitly telling him how he should go about gathering Northern support to his cause.

And they all come. Because they hate the Boltons and want to save “Arya” from their grasp.

Stannis aside, the other Northern houses are already conspiring to depose of the Boltons, because they loathe them and the Freys for a) breaking guest right, b) betraying their king/ the loss of many of their kin in the Red Wedding, c) the generally disgusting practices House Bolton holds.

The North fucking remembers, in the books, and is ready and rearing to take back what is theirs.

Furthermore, the Vale is the only kingdom in Westeros that is as of yet untouched by war. The food stores, the fresh army– holy shit is that not the metaphorical wild card? Whenever the Vale chooses to enter the fray (and I love that Littlefinger actually uses that line on the show) will make a HUGE impact on whatever side it chooses to join. Sansa is in the Vale running the Eyrie and organizing tournaments and putting her Southron teachings to use.

She’s happy there and reasonably safe, rather than being part of a story line where she serves no real function except to be a victim and look like a fool being rejected from house after house despite being a trueborn Stark child.

The show completely misses the loyalty and culture of the Northern houses and diminishes the power of House Stark.

^^^ Ari, you have more patience in I do when answering these sorta asks.

Aerys was dead on the floor, drowned in his own blood. His dragon skulls stared down from the walls. Lannister’s men were everywhere. Jaime wore the white cloak of the Kingsguard over his golden armor. I can see him still. Even his sword was gilded. He was seated on the Iron Throne, high above his knights, wearing a helm fashioned in the shape of a lion’s head. How he glittered!

Why Sansa in Winterfell makes no sense for any player involved:

Roose Bolton:

  • Only holds Winterfell based on Tywin granting him the position of Warden. Getting a letter that says “hey, I have Sansa Stark” (aka fugitive #1) and responding with anything but a raven to King’s Landing alerting them of a possible traitor in the Vale is an insane gamble. We know Roose Bolton is a cautious and calculating man, and we know he only acted for the Red Wedding when he got assurances.

Littlefinger:

  • The same person who went to great lengths to sneak Sansa out of the capital is now sending a raven to one of the Lannister’s best allies at this point—which also happens to be the family that loathes the Starks and actively betrayed them—to inform them that Sansa Stark is alive and in the Vale?
  • Littlefinger wrote this letter so that Roose would agree to marry Sansa to Ramsay, which does absolutely nothing to strengthen Sansa’s claim in the North. In fact allying with a Bolton is likely to weaken the Northern opinion of her. It would make more sense at this point to declare Sansa Queen in the North, have the Vale rally to her, and ride to Winterfell collecting Northern Lords on the way.
  • Littlefinger knows Stannis is coming with his army to Winterfell and expects Stannis to win, and that after winning he’ll name Sansa “Wardeness of the North.” Why wouldn’t he try to get a letter to Stannis in that case, or at the least, why is he trying to put Sansa in what he knows is about to become an active battle zone? He knows Stannis will want the Stark name to strengthen hold in the North and assumes the man will win. There’s no reason Sansa couldn’t just stay in the Vale with the people who will protect her. If Stannis loses, then come up with a plan where maybe Sansa infiltrates the Boltons (which is still stupid).
  • Littlefinger gets absolutely nothing in return. He hands his biggest asset to Roose Bolton for an “alliance” (?) that doesn’t actually do anything. It doesn’t strengthen his power in the Vale, and marrying Sansa off to the son of the Warden of the North doesn’t put her (and by extension him) in a position of greater power at all.
  • Littlefinger didn’t do simple background research on Ramsay. He literally said the words “I haven’t heard much about you,” yet still arranged this marriage. Perhaps if he asked any Northern Lord on the way to Winterfell (like maybe someone from House Cerwyn when Ramsay just actively flayed the Lord) he could have guessed that this wouldn’t be a good idea. There’s a difference between being a “betting man” and making uninformed stabs in the dark.

Sansa:

  • Sansa has no reason to go along with this. She has the Vale Lords on her side, which is rather important in case Littlefinger mistreats her or say…arranges a marriage she doesn’t want. So she has plenty of agency here. She gains nothing from it: daughter-in-law of the Warden of the North is not exactly a politically powerful position. The only way this would make sense is if she’s an assassin being dropped in to slit throats in the night. And while there’s commentary from the costume designer about Sansa wearing a miniature Needle (seriously wtf), this really isn’t Sansa’s skillset. She agreed with absolutely no specifics, and not even knowing the full political situation (like Stannis’s impending attack).

Why this is terrible:

  • It casually smashes the characterizations of three very serious players in one fell swoop because they thought it would be more shocking to put Sansa in this situation. Apparently things like consistency and logic are nothing when you can have gasps.

Seriously though, I don’t know what it is that has convinced film producers that as a franchise progresses and becomes more serious, everything should be black, white, gray, brown, and yellow. With the Harry Potter series each film after the third was trying to be even darker than the last, until in the sixth movie it went so far as to rob spells of their color so you wouldn’t even know what kind were being cast. It set a darker tone, true, but made each film stand out a little less.

Color is a key and vital element of storytelling. If everything is gray and hard to make out on screen (I have a big television and I watch the series in HD, so it shouldn’t be a problem for me but it is), then you can’t appreciate moments that are truly supposed to be colorless.

Because everything in season five looks like this:

When the cinematographer is feeling generous, it might look like this:

House traits & stuff (things to remember)

  • The Lannisters are freaking bold and brave. Also a house that’s full of extroverts.
  • Starks can be bloodthirsty and ruthless
  • Greyjoys can be great conquerers and Asha Greyjoy is fantastic queen. They are also religious and are important. The AFFC chapters are not a red herring.
  • There are some Baratheons with sweet personalities, such as Shireen, Renly, Edric, etc. Not everyone in that house are hot tempered.
  • Some of the Targaryens were musical
  • Tullys can be absolute schemers (just look at what Hoster Tully did to Lysa)
  • Martells are schemers and very patient. Ellaria is a peaceful woman.
  • The Tyrells are a patriachy. (Want a more of a matriach society? Mormont.) They also are willing to frame two abuse victims for a regicide, and Mace closed the Roseroad (which caused a famine). Oh, and they are very vain.
  • Hightowers are freaking rich. Very, very, very rich.

The Starks are more than honour. The Lannisters are more than arrogant leaders. The Baratheons are more than frat boys. The Tyrells aren’t the pinacle of feminism. The Greyjoys and Hightowers are important.

Alfie Allen has revealed that something horrible involving Ramsay Bolton will happen in Season 5 that’s worse than anything he’s done before. “There’s something that happens about halfway through this season that is really going to make huge waves, and people aren’t going to be happy about it. It’s hard to watch. I bear witness to this thing, and it’s crazy, sort of having to portray how messed up everyone’s situation is through my own reactions to what happens. Get ready for it.” Alfie also said he and Iwan worked with a major character this season and that it was an “absolute joy” to interact with this actor/actress. “There’s this one character who crosses both of our paths, and [Ramsay] certainly enjoys tormenting this character. It can be tough to watch for some people, without a doubt.” [x]
