Update on a little theory...
So recently the RWBY Vol.6 Opening was just revealed to the public and I made a funny post about how the mysteriously hooded figure was Neo, due to the appearance of Roman’s hat flying by her.
BUT THEN, in light of multiple discussions with some friends of mine, as well as carefully looking at the Opening again multiple times, I’ve come to the declaration that the hooded figure is STILL CINDER hiding from everyone!
HOWEVER, my excitement for Neo’s return remains as THIS was pointed out to me by my friends....
You see that!? That’s clearly a pink folded-up umbrella swinging away at the hooded Cinder! Which means.... WE’RE GONNA SEE A MOTHERFUCKING FIGHT BETWEEN NEO AND CINDER, BABY!!! WHOOOOOO!!!!!
So why would Neo be after Cinder, some of you might ask? Well if y’all remember, Cinder is in fact responsible for Roman’s death. Yes Ruby was the one who got him to walk outside the ship, but it was Cinder who recruited Roman and Neo and told them to take over that ship in the first place. That places the responsibility for Roman’s safety on Cinder. Roman’s hat flying by hooded-Cinder was probably Neo’s way of telling her, “I’ve found you, and I’m coming for you because it’s your fault Roman died.” MAN I can’t wait!
So.... about that new RWBY Opening....
WE NEED A RWBY CHIBI SKIT OF ROMAN AND NEO ESCAPING JAIL LIKE THIS!!!!!

Could Neo Be a Maiden???
Honestly? I’d very much like her to be, and it would make for another surprising twist to the story. This would also mean that she’d have to be either the Summer Maiden or Winter Maiden, and to be fair, her name does seem connected to both seasons. Neo(politan) is a flavor of ice-cream (strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate). Ice-cream is very cold like winter, but it is also consumed by many people during the hotter seasons, especially summer to help cool people off. (Just realized the funny joke with Neo beating Yang. Ice-cream beats the heat. lol)
So you see where I’m coming from with this. Neo is also a highly skilled fighter who seems to have quite a few handy tricks up her sleeve. As of now her best skill demonstration was when she snuck aboard the Atlas airship and killed ALL THE SOLDIERS on the ship, and without showing any signs of fatigue or damage; meaning she had very little trouble killing all these armed and trained soldiers. Yes she kinda caught them off guard what with her disguise, but it still proves a good point.
Now with the sudden reveal of Raven being the Spring Maiden, we can now safely assume due to her display of skill against Cinder, Raven must’ve had these powers for a very long time. Meaning she had them when she confronted Neo on the train. It makes you wonder... Neo fled because she knew she couldn’t beat Raven. But does that mean she knew that Raven was also a Maiden and Neo isn’t skilled enough to take on Raven in a one-on-one fight? Or perhaps Neo doesn’t want to reveal her Maiden powers just yet?
Either way, we know that Neo wasn’t skilled enough to take on Raven, but seemed confident in taking on Weiss, Blake, and Yang at the same time. So that too says a lot about her. She may have been able to take on ALL four members of team RWBY seeing how easily she was kicking Ruby’s ass. (And no I’m not counting Roman in that fight. Neo didn’t really need him there.)
Now, Miles and Kerry said in this week’s RWBY Rewind if they would make a spin-off RWBY series due to the large vastness that is the World of Remnant, they excitedly said “Yes!” So there’s some open potential for Neo’s character to get some kind of development if they decide to make the series about her; or at least have her in it. Perhaps help explain where the fuck she’s been at these past 2 Volumes. lol
So does Neo have potential to be one of the other two missing Maiden? Again, I’d like to think so. Have it be that we’ve already met the Summer/Winter Maiden since Vol.2 and didn’t know it. Or better yet, how cool would it be if she herself didn’t know she’s a Maiden? Have it to where the power laid dormant inside her until she released it after Roman’s death and is on a journey to figure out what this power is and how to use it. Then have her return to the main storyline to suprise everyone with her newfound powers. lol But that’s just a bit too much wishful thinking. Still be cool though.
But whether she’s a Maiden or not, she’ll always be my favorite RWBY character. I just hope we get to see her soon and learn new things about her.
I Want Neo To Do This!!!
If Neo will become the ever-hopeful badass anti-hero we all want her to be… (SHUT UP, YES WE DO!!!!) … then I want her to at least have a moment where she makes a deal to help Team RWBY (or other hero characters) to fight off a wave of Grimm (or Grimm Boss). And during that fight, she just casually whips out her scroll and earbuds and plays a fun little song before dancing around the battlefield, happily slaughtering Grimm while she continues to happily dance with that cute adorable smile of hers!
Yes, like Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Neo’s Return Headcanon!
So as much as we all wanna see Neo make some actiony badass appearance back on screen, why do I have the feeling she’s just gonna stroll into the scene with the main cast like Captain Barbossa did at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 with that adorable smug grin on her face?

Please, for the love of God, Monty, and all things good left in this crazy community... I just ask for one simple teeny tiny itty bitty little thing from y’all...
I know y’all have your standards and headcanons. You have your theories, opinions, likes, and dislikes. But what I’m going to request doesn’t ask for much. And it shouldn’t be that hard to do...
Please... PLEEEEEEAAAAASE!!!!!! When Neo returns and starts actually talking (Yes I said “when” not “if” because for the umpteenth time, Neo has been confirmed to having a voice actress) please.... PLEASE show some form of respect and appreciation to the voice actress, to CRWBY, to Miles and Kerry, and all other Rooster Teeth staff who helped pick out this person to play the part of such a unique and favorite character.
I know many of y’all want Neo to be mute, but unfortunately that’s not going to be the case for canon-Neo. Chibi-Neo is the only Mute-Neo we’re going to get. (unless unforeseen circumstances happen to canon-Neo that causes her to be mute, but that’d be pretty dumb just to appease the demands of many fans.)
Just please, don’t riot, don’t rage, don’t hate, don’t do anything to show any form of negative opinions about Canon-Neo talking. We all should’ve known this was coming, so it shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise that we see her talking in the canon series. There’s nothing wrong about Neo talking. Nothing wrong about a character we ASSUMED was mute only to end up talking like a regular person.
I know y’all have your wants and needs for having a mute character. Especially a unique character like Neo. And I don’t wanna try to bring your hopes and dreams to a crashing end, I just want y’all to please try and respect CRWBY for the decisions they make for their characters. Please don’t go into a crazed frenzy just because we didn’t get something that we would like to have in the show.
That’s all I ask. Can I have y’all’s word to keep such a promise? If you still want a mute-canon-Neo, then be grateful y’all can still do fan-fictions and RPs. Thank you for understanding, and I pray we can work together as a community to show the love and respect we have for Rooster Teeth and its many talented employees. Thank you.
Chibi-Neo has now worn Roman's hat 3 TIMES now!!!! The fandom has been asking to see Neo sport Roman's hat ever since his death in the canon series! And now we see her wearing his full getup with Roman saying she wears it better! I know Chibi isn't canon, but I think it's at least hinting at something here!
