Hi, anon that talked about the racism with the Martez sisters. I just wanted to clarify that I love them both and I really liked the episodes that showed us how life on lower coruscant through them, which is why I felt so betrayed when the smuggling job came up. I learned after the first ask that ppl seemed to hate them and while i get that the last episodes were kinda eehhh, i still loved the first two. It felt so cozy to just see their normal lives and I loved the sisters with Ahsoka

No worries! I think it’s important to bring these kinds of things up, especially when it is about characters you like!

And yes, I noticed a lot of people voicing their dislike of the sisters for a range of reasons...Whether they are good or bad reasons is a debate I do not have the energy for lol but it feels like it stems from both sexism and racism at the worst points

I agree wholeheartedly about their dynamic with Ahsoka. I find it really nice when we have outlier opinions clashing with each other but the three are able to come to an agreement once they understand each other more.

They all have such different personalities and motivations, but it’s cool to also know exactly why they make the decisions they do.

Rafa and Trace are severely inexperienced but do not have the luxury to allow themselves to be seen as otherwise to survive in the world that they do. They have no security net to work with, but are also conflicted with wanting to move up and get out by taking risky (and morally ambiguous) opportunities they find along the way.

Ahsoka, on the other hand, was raised to be morally righteous and is used to being a position where she sees someone in trouble, and is encouraged to jump into the fray and help. However, she can also be a bit preachy and sanctimonious, where she offers her advice but doesn’t offer solutions outright because she is in a position where she has to also hide her identity.

Personally, I enjoyed seeing them all being challenged by each other but still being able to work with each other to solve the problems they had to face (often self inflicted lol).

It makes me wonder if Ahsoka returned to them with Rex and if they all teamed up together again for a little while before eventually parting ways.
