I'm partial to the idea that not only does the average (the majority? Every?) clone choose their names for themselves rather than being named by somebody, most of them don't have deep stories behind their names, or really any meaningful relation. Guy named Scanner named himself that cause he likes the sound. Dude named Beetle is deeply ambivalent about bugs. Fly? A heavy gunner. 95% of clone names chosen just for the vibes.

do yall think the kaminoans have a reporting system to file complaints against drill sergeants who were negligent or being violent, or was it more of a hands-off approach?

A clone trooper dice set I made with some clones from the 501st legion. I carved the helmets from plaster first and then made a mould to make more. I then painted them with acrylic paint and set them into dice.

I’m still yet to learn how to reliably not sand the numbers off the D20 but I did learn to carve some of the numbers back in and pretend it never happened so…

I also probably should use blanks for stuff like this because I definitely sanded into some of these.

A little 2.5 hour speed paint since I've been low on time lately and wanted to try something a bit more loose!

my favorite genre is clones meeting jedi for the first time and dealing with weird force shit. the whole concept of space wizards/monks being military leaders is so funny when u think about it.

Hi Clone Wars fam! I’m hoping to start drawing portraits of my re-worked clone troopers; but I’ll be honest. Portraits are something I really struggle with. And I wanna get these guys right. Any advice on drawing clones please? I appreciate any and all advice/ideas/suggestions ^^ Ta!

I think it will definitely vary depending on style, but to avoid accidentally falling into stereotypes and caricatures, it’s important to not lean too much into stylistic creativity until you have the basis of anatomy nailed down first.

You can’t reinvent something if you do not understand the framework it is made of first.
