When the river was lapping at their ankles, Brandon finally ended it, with a brutal backhand cut that bit through Petyr’s rings and leather into the soft flesh below the ribs, so deep that Catelyn was certain that the wound was mortal. He looked at her as he fell and murmured “Cat” as the bright blood came flowing out between his mailed fingers. She thought she had forgotten that.

Just feel the need to throw a friendly reminder out there that Petyr Baelish did not, in fact, love Catelyn Tully. Even if he did as a child, present-day Littlefinger actively worked to bring about the downfall of her family and the people that she loved, without a thought to her own feelings and desires, for entirely selfish purposes. That’s not to mention the way he treats her sister and daughter, even after her death. So yeah. Obsession? Absolutely. Love? Nope.
