Learning how to do the painterly style you often see in concept art. Tried painting one of my unnamed Monsters. Really pleased with how it came out! :D
My favorite boi! Gave Donnie a cool cyber punk-y light reflecting/refracting jacket. He was laying down in the original pose but when I turned it sideways he looked like he was sitting lol. So now Donatello has gone from refusing to lounge like a normal person to refusing to sit like a normal person, which is par for the course really.
Donnie would like you all to remember to; keep checking your data, stick it to “the man”, perform rigorous testing, periodically scream into the void, be gay do crime, and always wear your mask!
Decided to participate in #monstober this year! Hope you all look forward to 31 cool new monsters who might potentially appear in future chapters of my comic “Monster”! Click images to see any artist notes and check out the process video to watch me make them! :D Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated <3

“When I was little I liked to look up at the stars.” Inspired by the opening from Enter the Florpus, specifically this unused storyboard:
The film draws a lot of parallels between Zim and Dib so that got me thinking about what Dib says at the beginning about looking up at space and feeling hope, and I wondered if Zim did too...
Zim in the elite armor. I took some liberties with design and color. #bestboi
Been binging the show and comics recently. So it's probably not a surprise that I started drawing everyone’s favorite feral little space boi! X)
I decided to revisit designing some monster girls from a prompt list that floated around a couple of years ago. :)
Who doesn't like literal catgirls? This peppy lady is a Chartreux breed, the same as my own cat. They're rare as far as cats go, they're known for being deceptively smart and their propensity for being possessed by zoomies.
I decided to revisit designing some Monster Girls from a prompt list that floated around a couple of years ago. :) First up is the Harpy. Their name means "to snatch" and in mythology, they are known to use their powerful legs and wings to carry off carts, livestock, and occasionally human men. As such I imagine that they're at least a few feet taller on average than a human.
Saw a bunch of my friends doing the #toonme challenge so I figured why not take a crack at it? It makes a good first post I think!

Inspired by something I saw while floating about on Tumblr. The ladies of "Monster" From left to right are: Rachel, Dee Dee, Alpha, Candis, Hope, Jane, Michelle, and Zahara. (Finding images of space that matched their signature colors that weren't photo-manipulated was a challenge! @_@ ) Let me know what you guys think! <3 All stellar photographs taken by the amazing men and women of NASA and similar institutions. You guys are awesome! "Monster" © Alexandra Schoell Friendly reminder that commissions are open!

Originally done as a prompt for the "Artist's Round Table" episode of the "Beyond the Playlist" podcast (Set to Air 6/29/2014) I'm rather pleased with this one, not only is it the first 100% digital piece I've done, it's also the first with no line art. However I'm most pleased that it made a sweet little girl smile, I gave her father (the host) a copy, and now she'll have it as a poster on her wall. 'The Dragon' © Alexandra Schoell, 2014
