Sneaking in at the last minute lol! Just saw @prettywarriors Magical Girl challenge for each week of March. I thought it might be a good opportunity to design some bg girls for my webcomic “Monster”, which you can read HERE.
This week’s prompt was Nocturnal Animal.
So I give you “Dizzy” (haven’t decided on a proper name for her yet lol) Her theme is a moth, more specifically a “Moth Man”, her over all concept is a cryptid hunter. Her weapon is her briefcase, which contains all manor of spooky shadows, and if something gets too close she can give them a good smack with it too!

Week two of the @prettywarriors Magical Girl challenge, one for each week of March. I thought it might be a good opportunity to design some bg girls for my webcomic “Monster”, which you can read HERE.
This week’s prompt was Gothic Fashion Magical Idol.
Face and upper body came out great but I’m not super enthused by the legs :| ah well! This is Cecelia, she’s an older magical girl, 16 years old, she’s a member of a bg squad called Siren. Almost all of this four girl team’s abilities are based in music. Cecelia acts as the “lead singer”, her voice creates “gain” which when channeled through her microphone allows her to change said microphone into numerous types of weapons and increasing their effectiveness the longer she sings. When combined with the powers of her teammates it creates “euphoria” and generates an illusionary world in theme with the song. Its sort of like a living music video? Personality wise she’s on the shy side, especially when talking to new people, but when she sings her confidence shines through! (Maybe at some point I’ll do a some bonus action drawings for her? If people want to see anyway XD )

lol WELP! I hopped on the bandwagon and did the meme X) I picked out characters from 6 of my favorite fandoms and drew a little something for each of them. Some of these characters I’ve never even drawn before now that I think of it o.o

Hee hee :3 I got a gold star!
XD oh my god I’m dumb I didn’t read the entirety of the “ask me” thing I relogged. The Star is to have me talk about a section of my choice! I’ll reblog again with a section. I just wanted to let you all know I realized my mistake lol
[They traveled for at least two hours, Ben wasn't sure of the exact amount, it was an odd experience to be sure. Whatever temporary understanding the beast had gained when their minds had touched was still holding true, it hadn't behaved aggressively in the slightest and even waited patiently when Ben had to frequently stop and rest.
"You need a name," Ben told the thing during one such break, while he munched on a ration bar, "I'm not going to keep calling you "lizard" in my head."
The lizard said nothing, obviously, and continued to float.
"I'm going to call you...Bruce."
Bruce said nothing, obviously, and continued to float.]
From chapter 4 of my Star Wars fic “The Hardest Path to Walk”. I don’t know why it is exactly but giving the random, giant, flat, space gator such a normal name really tickled me. I was delighted enough by Bruce that I really considered trying to find a way for him to show up again later X) I also got to write Ben being a little more relaxed and playful which is a rare thing, at least at this point in his recovery. You’ll see it more and more as the story goes on but one of my favorite things about Ben’s personality is that under it all he’s a bit of a dork, just like his Grandfather and his Dad.
Fanfic Writers: Director’s Cut
Reblog this if you want readers to come into your ask box and ask for the “director’s commentary” on a particular story, section of a story, or set of lines.
Or, send in a ⭐star⭐ to have the author select a section they’ve been dying to talk about!
OMG OMG PRETTY PLEASE FLOOD MY INBOX!
"Show me?" Ben pleaded before she could leave it at that, "Please, I want to know. I need to understand where this pain is from, why you were so afraid."
Her hands moved to his temples where they hesitated, "Are you certain? This isn't something light Ben, it's what shaped everything I did afterward."
"Yes," Ben told her firmly, "I meant what I said, I need to understand what happened. If I don't I'll just go over it in my mind again and again and make it worse and worse. I don't want to do that anymore, I'm too tired." He was certain of that, whatever she'd seen that shook a woman he'd thought unshakeable, he needed to see it too.
Bonus image from “The Hardest Path to Walk” Just a silly idea I had of Ben trying to wrangle four kids + Grogu first thing in the morning. Kids are (from left to right): Aden (Dathomirian), Clif (Human), Til (Human), and Fwi-Fwi (Gungan)
That moment when you save a bunch of space children, they adopt you, and there’s nothing you can do about it. A scene from my fic “The Hardest Path to Walk” which created such a cute image in my head while I was writing it that I had to draw it! ^-^ Hope you all enjoy it, I’d love to know what you all think! Kids are (from left to right): Til (Human/African), Clif (Human/Caucasian), Fwi-Fwi (Gungan), and Aden (Dathomirian)

The explosion was brighter than even the daylight, a blue-white, that hurt, cutting behind Ben's eyelids! The snap BANG of it breaking the sound barrier rattled him down to his bones, and the shockwave chucked him like a ragdoll! Instinctively he grabbed the child and held him tight to his chest, shielding him with his arms!
Surely, Ben thought dizzily to himself, a signal that bright, loud, and obvious, must be impossible to miss…
Ben leaned back against the tree, looking up through the dense leaves at some small feathered creatures pecking and prodding away at the things crawling along the branches. As far as places to begin his journey of self-discovery™ a swamp seemed almost poetic. Start crawling out of the figurative mud by crawling out of the literal mud. Or maybe it was the growing, nagging, feeling that his having ended up here wasn't an accident and an unnerving thought began to form in his head.
"If this is Dagobah," he firmly told the universe, "I'm out. I'll turn myself in, to the first Republic Officer I find."
"Fortunate for you then that this isn't Dagobah,"
Long long ago, in a galaxy far far away... "I wonder how revolting it was for you to pretend to play nice, just to save your own skin? I can't wait to see what the New Republic decides to do with your worthless hide. Execution is always an option, but I think I'm going to suggest imprisonment in the worst cell they have. One of those old ones the Empire made for Jedi. Just leave you in there alone to rot."
Long long ago, in a galaxy far far away... Ben smirked, resting his chin on his hand, "Oh you would be surprised." He lowered his voice conspiratorially, "I learned my first curse words from my mother. The songs I learned from my father and his "friends"." "No," Rey could feel a grin forming on her face, "She never would have let him, surely!" "She didn't like it," Ben shrugged, "But her job was critical and kept her far too busy to spare time keeping me out of trouble," there was a touch of regret and disappointed acceptance in his words, "I spent most of my time with my father anyway. It was that or leave me with a nanny droid, and Whills know I got very good at escaping from them fairly early on and it wasn’t wise to leave me alone." Rey laughed, trying to picture a tiny little Ben, all pudgy baby limbs and wild hair, sneaking past fussy droids to find his parents. She hoped it was as adorable as she imagined. "I still don't know that I entirely believe you. A bar or anywhere else Han might go for fun is absolutely not any place for a child." "Pot to the kettle. I can prove it." "How?" "Name a song. I bet you I know it."
Long long ago in a galaxy far far away... All too often when a particularly "evil" person becomes "good" again, the only way for them to be redeemed is for them to die. So, what happens when you try that and death won't have you? A newly awakened Ben Solo must deal with the aftermath of his actions as Kylo Ren; physically, mentally, and socially; struggling to figure out how he can even START to take responsibility or try to fix the damage he's done. How do you right wrongs when no one trusts you? How do you repair what cannot be repaired? How do you deal with the things you've done when you're just as much to blame as you're not? Do you have the right to be happy? Do you even have the right to try?

I already said it but, honestly, Disney.
Why do you have to kill your redeemed villain characters just after they save the life of the heroine.
Its a bad writing habit is what it is, you can see it all the time in all kinds of media. (though less often in cartoons weirdly enough o.o) Its a quick out to avoid the hard parts of a redemption arc. After saving the hero and renouncing their previous ways is where the actual hard work starts, where a previous villain has to unlearn their bad habits and work to make right the things they’ve done, or even face the harsh reality that they CAN’T undo what they’d done. While on paper it seems like a necessary end point for a shorter story all it really seems to do is piss people off. Either because they see it as the villain just “getting to be good now” or because their real journey is cut short and we are then deprived of a satisfying conclusion. It also has the unfortunate side effect of perpetuating the idea that a bad person can’t ever change and that the only good thing they can do is to die.
