Cave paintings are one of the pillars of paleontology, as they’re vital glimpses to a past that we can no longer glimpse, the last witnesses to creatures we’ll probably never see in our lifetimes.

They’re also a great source of unintentional comedy.
Look at that bear, so smug at being so well drawn. Look at those mammoths. You know they’re charismatic when, no matter where, they’re REALLY well drawn.
