Get ready for a long-ish post:
Okay so I want to get better at watercolors, inking and lettering among other things. Frannerd and Casey Neistat really inspired me to just do something about it!
1) The have-to-do-list and the want-to-do-list
The have-to-do list is mostly just boring everyday things like pay the book club, but the want-to-do list reminds me what I want to accomplish creatively, short team. It includes: watercolor, ink, sew a baby blanket and knit a huggable plush.
Now, I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment (easter holiday and maternity leave), but I am terrible at motivating myself at home. So I made this:
2) The creative calendar! A complete design rip-off from Frannerd..
It stars today (Marts the 21th) and ‘ends’ on April the 10th -so far I’ve put down Monday as my inking day, Tuesday as sketching/tumblr day, Wednesday for watercolor, a little knitting on the 24th, and Friday is another inking day!
Inspiration and creativity does truly come from action.
Why now?
The reason I haven’t been super serious about refining my skills the past few years isn’t that I wasn’t interested in learning but because I saw my drawing as a hobby. I never really considered that I could choose it as a career, that what I did was good?
I’m still dapping in and out of the scary artsy world, but I’ve come to understand that (for the first time in a long time) I’m doing something ‘original’ (disregard all the unoriginality tendencies of this post naturally) with my works and that is worth something!
Oh, and the first pic was just the view of Copenhagen at dusk last night. So pretty right?
long post. see yeh <3
