man. I'd have to do a replay to make serious meta about it, but the way the crash turns them into two wounds stitched together, bleeding their roles and positions within the story into one another... curly failing anya as an authority by leaving jimmy's assault unaddressed only to karmically take her place of victim when he gets injured and loses his voice and his mobility, event that IN TURN pushes anya into a position of authority/responsibility towards him where IN TURN she fails him by being unable to fulfill her duties as nurse, enabling jimmy's abuse when he has to give curly his pills. a mutual ouroboros of tragedy that's always too little. always too late.
