Please help my friend Ashraf! @ashraffblog

Ashraf asked me to draw some art for his campaign in order to get more attention for his campaign. I've spent a few days talking with Ashraf while working on this drawing of his little son.

Ashraf is 30 years old and used to be a chicken farmer before the IOF destroyed his home and business. He has a lovely wife named Widad and a 1 ½-year-old son named Bakr.

Ashraf has been risking his life to receive a strong enough internet connection to communicate with myself and others.

Just yesterday, Ashraf had to end our conversation for his own safety. There was shelling close to where he could get internet connection!

Ashraf is close to his goal at:

€26,526 raised of €30,000 goal

Can we get him to €30,000 as soon as possible?

If you aren't able to donate, please boost his campaign!

If you want to help even more, please consider making your own post for Ashraf. I give full permission for anyone to repost my artwork or use it in their own post, as long as it is to help Ashraf's family. I don't need credit!

Fadel @fadel-aldani1 urgently needs medical care!

ONLY €920 has been raised of the €10,000 goal

He and his family were displaced multiple times before they returned to their home. Overnight their home was shelled and Fadel and his family were injured.

Fadel and his family were transferred to a hospital in the Southern Gaza Strip. The doctors removed some of the shrapnel, but some was deeply lodged and was too difficult to remove, especially with the lack of medical supplies.

Fadel had his wound stitched up, but he lives in constant pain from the shrapnel that remains in his body.

He desperately needs to raise €10,000 in order to leave Gaza and receive lifesaving treatment.

Please donate if you are able to and boost however you can.

@catnapdreams Thank you very much for this beautiful work.🥹❤️❤️

I hope that people with kind hearts full of humanity will share my story so that it reaches everyone 🥹❤️

Suad has reached out to me to share her story with you, and I hope you will help it reach more people. Please follow her blog @suad-khaled , read and reblog her pinned post, and donate what you can.

Suad is a young mother to baby Khaled, who was born during the genocide in Gaza. Their family faces constant displacement, bombings and daily threats to their lives as well as severe malnutrition and disease. Khaled suffers from a viral chest infection and struggles to breathe due to the air pollution from the bombs. Financial pressures and lack of available resources makes it difficult to afford his medication, treatment, formula, diapers, food and warm clothes.

Please give what you can so Suad can provide her child with the care he desperately needs. They are just over halfway to their goal but donations have slowed down to an alarming pace.

I'd like to highlight a fundraiser for a bright young woman @drdarine Darine Dawoud. She and her family have lost more than any of us can imagine, and through this, she working hard to get her medical degree and supporting her family.

ID in Alt

In spite of her education being tragically interrupted by the war and ongoing genocide, she has been using her knowledge to help the people around her, and is even now trying to continue her education, even under such harsh and inhumane circumstances.

And though Darine works hard to help other people in need, by volunteering at the refugee camps and providing medical aid, we still must support her and support her family.

Her fundraiser has been active since February (that's eight whole months!!) and has only raised a fraction of its goal. She has an achievable goal of $30,000 and, in eight months, only raised just over $5,000. We cannot fail Darine and her family.

Let's push for a boost in this fundraiser as it has been stagnant. Darine deserves better and we can do better for her.

I was once a young man full of dreams and hopes, looking at life as a field of endless opportunities. My days felt bright, filled with energy and excitement for the future.😩

But then, war came. It hit like a harsh storm, destroying not just buildings and streets but everything I had inside me. My life turned to ashes, and my dreams were scattered like dust.💔

Today, I feel like my youth has withered before its time, as if the light in my life has faded. Even in quiet moments, a deep fear chases me—fear that, even if the war ends, nothing will ever be the same. The life I once knew feels like a distant memory, unreachable and lost.

But I hold on to hope that there are people out there who can help bring a little light back into my life. I know each of you has your own life ‼️💔, your own struggles. But I believe that, in the end, our shared humanity must come first. Please don’t turn away; even the smallest act of kindness can bring warmth back to hearts like mine, hearts struggling in darkness.

With your support , I can begin to rebuild not just my life, but my spirit. Together, we can create a world where compassion guides us, a world where no one feels abandoned.

Some pictures show my features changing between the past and the present I live, and I also deliberately do not show pictures that show suffering harshly, such as my picture in the hospital and my pictures under bombardment because this makes me feel depressed 😣

Thanks to God and then thanks to your support I got 26,678 pounds, I mean that we reached 40‎%‎ of the goal, the goal will be a goal of about 30,000 pounds, which is 50% of the goal. I hope you will participate a lot until it reaches donors and we achieve the success of my campaign in order to devote me to help people on the ground and check their campaigns !!️ 💔🙏

This is my account with which I posted my campaign and help myself and my family if you can help with the donation or in publishing my campaign to reach the donors 🤍

Displacement

Do not take this word lightly; it carries feelings of oppression, despair, and deep frustration. Behind it lies immense pain, a heavy burden of responsibility, and the agonizing choice between taking a step that could cost you and your family’s lives or staying where you are — a decision that might come at the same cost.

Leaving one’s home by force is a harrowing test of resilience. It’s difficult even for inanimate objects to be uprooted, let alone for people who have once tasted the comfort of stability.

And as for living in a tent? This is a bitter reality, one whose weight is only understood by those who have experienced its harsh details firsthand. In the tent, you lose the sense of safety, feeling as though life around you has come to a standstill, leaving you suspended in a place of fear and uncertainty.

The family of Asmaa Ayad is one of those who have endured the bitterness of displacement and the hardships of tent life. They desperately need your support and solidarity in this difficult time, as they face dangers from every side.

With your compassion and support, we can alleviate their suffering and give them hope for a dignified and stable life. Be a helping hand for them on this difficult journey.

$3,347 AUD/$9,100 AUD

Samah created this campaign on behalf of Isra Fathi Guma Ahmed, a med school student from Sudan.

Isra was a final-year medical student at Ahfad University for Women in Omdurman before the genocide disrupted her education. She and her family have been displaced since April of 2023 when the war began. Despite the hardships she's faced, Isra is determined to complete her education. She plans on transfering to Arab Academy For Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt through a partnership formed between them and Ahfad University.

$341 AUD/$12,000 AUD

Samah has also set up a second fundraiser to support Isra's friends, Leena and Madarik, who are also trying trying to transfer to complete their medical training. Isra is mentioned in this fundraiser because it will be used for an in person fundraising event to raise money for the 3 of them. The funds raised from that event will be split evenly between them. After the event, all further donations will go to Leena and Madarik while Isra's campaign will remain open to support her.

Your support is more than just a donation or reblog. It is an opportunity for Isra, Leena, and Madarik to achieve their dreams of joining the medical field and helping their communities. All funds raised will help them afford travel, tuition, and living costs. Please donate and share to support them.

Isra: $3,664/$9,100 AUD - Last donation was 2 days ago

Madarik and Tibyan: $11,839/$18,200 AUD - Last donation was 12 days ago

In the most recent uodate, it was explained that Leena and Isra asked to be removed from the group fundraiser and that the second campaign will now be benefiting Madarik and Tibyan. Isra still has her individual campagin (which is the first one linked in this post)

As the world faces health crises and wars, doctors stand on the front lines, dedicating their lives to others, saving lives, and easing suffering.

Our Question to You:

In Gaza, many doctors work under extremely challenging conditions, including the courageous medical student Darine, who continues her studies and serves others despite the hardships. Support her efforts and those of her colleagues. Doctors need our support to continue their humanitarian mission!

Darine Dawoud is 20-years-old medical student. She was in her 3rd year of of medical school at Al-Azhar University in Gaza when the war on Gaza started.

Al-Azhar University in Gaza before the war:

Al-Azhar University in Gaza after:

Despite losing her University, her home, and struggling to survive with her family, Darine continues to volunteer for UNRWA and help children with her medical experience.

Despite her gofundme being up since February (8 months!)

Her fundraiser has only raised $5,285 of a very reasonable goal of $30,000

There have only been 85 donation in 8 months!

If you have anything to spare, please donate to this bright young woman and her family!

If you cannot donate, please boost her campaign!

Darine is VETTED #15 by @gazavetters

@nabulsi also made a post for Darine HERE

While we continue to donate to personal evacuation funds, I think it is crucial to keep in mind that these individuals as well as millions more in Gaza are currently actively in need of basic necessities like food, water, shelter, and medical care. Keeping this in mind, and recognising that there is no way to know when the border crossing with Egypt will reopen, I think our attention should also be on raising funds for organisations currently on the ground who will have the widest impact on the lives of Palestinians who are still enduring the genocide in Gaza.

Below are some verified donation links of organisations that are currently providing assistance for the people in Gaza directly:

Food, water, and shelter

Taawon has launched a campaign to provide support in Gaza through food parcels, shopping vouchers, fresh produce, water bottles and shelter tents.

Watermelon Relief is a project initiated and implemented by a group of activists in Gaza, who work to provide aid to displaced families in Gaza through meals, support and activities.

World Food Programme (WFP) managed to provide assistance to more than 1 million people in Gaza in May by delivering food in shelters, makeshift camps and shops.

Life for Gaza is an initiative through which the Municipality of Gaza aims to provide basic necessities for the people of Gaza such as water projects, waste collection and the reconstruction of roads.

Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) is working to plant farmlands in Gaza through their "Revive Gaza Farmlands" project, through which they had already started planting vegetables, fruits and leafy greens in Gaza.

Purchasing eSIMs is one of the only remaining ways to keep Gazans connected with the outside world, to get their stories out or even enable them to call for help after Israeli strikes.

The Sameer Project is a donation based aid initiative that provides tents, cash aid, diapers and formula for displaced families in Gaza.

Care For Gaza is an organisation that works to provide essential aid such as food packages and cash to deliver to displaced families in Gaza.

Palestine Children's Relief Fund, through their "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign, plan to provide essential medical supplies and treatments, as well as food and clean water.

Mutual Aid for the People of Gaza is a fundraiser managed by Mona in Gaza, who personally purchases and distributes basic supplies including food parcels to families in Gaza.

Help Gaza Children is another grassroots effort operating on the ground in Gaza to support families with food, water and clothing.

Medical care

Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) provides medical supplies and supports healthcare services in Gaza.

Gaza Wound Care is a medical team in a tent in Nuseirat, providing care to children and supporting pregnant women.

Children Not Numbers is an NGO dedicated to providing medical care for the children in Gaza including delivery of medical aid and medical evacuation for children.

- Timothy Snyder. The first and perhaps most important lesson from On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons for the Twentieth Century (2017)

Snyder's new book, On Freedom, was published in 2024.

[Image Description:

The first sentence, in bolded text, reads “1. Do not obey in advance.”

The rest follows in plain text: “Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.”]

It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraise on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. Share and donate as much as you can.

Too much pressure to pick just one family? Another REALLY important effort that's been overlooked is on-the-ground charity! They make good use of your donation by providing food, shelter, medicine, money, and baby milk and diapers to as many people as possible, regardless of how lucky they got fundraising individually on the internet. Please donate to the Sameer Project here! https://chuffed.org/project/help-us-deliver-vital-aid-to-gaza-families-in-need
