Here's an example of a Mars-Saturn square configuration. This random chart belongs to Tom.

Tom has a fiery Leo Rising, as well as Mars and Mercury in the first house. He comes out as a charismatic, warm, and entertaining individual. He has a positive outlook on life and is able to make himself heard and stand out in any situation.

Mars in Leo enhances the Lion's confidence and makes him more competitive and motivated to express himself. These people want the attention and praise they believe they are due. Mars in Leo is proud, and that energy is palpable when you first meet Tom. He will not put up with being disrespected.

Tom feels like the main character and will fight to get the recognition he deserves. He craves the limelight and has all the means to achieve it.

The problem is that Tom also has Saturn in Scorpio in the 4th house, which forms an almost perfect square to his Mars.

The primary concern of Scorpio is surviving through wielding power. Saturn in Scorpio makes Tom extra cautious. It becomes critical to protect oneself and control one's environment. Being unsuccessful makes the highly calculating Scorpio feel vulnerable. He must have the upper hand in all situations.

This square causes the native a lot of frustration and insecurity. When we act, we do not always get the desired results.

He either doesn't act at all, or acts in an extreme way in order to ensure his success.

People may feel that his confidence masks a deep insecurity. His efforts may cast a bad light on him. That part is also confirmed by the Mars-Midheaven square, and the Saturn-Midheaven opposition. 

Tom's job will be to take a more measured approach. Not everything is a matter of life and death. Working on his Saturn will be critical to his future success.

In Chad Daybell’s chart, the Sun is in its home sign, Leo. He has self-assurance and a sense of importance. This Sun, in its purest form, never doubts their status as notable individuals deserving of respect and admiration from others. They frequently have a magnetic personality since they have no self-doubt and high self-esteem. His Sun is squared by Neptune, which causes him to have false notions of his own significance.

It appears that his Moon is in Pisces. Pisces Moons need to dedicate themselves to a cause in order to feel emotionally satisfied. They think they have a calling and must pursue it no matter what. Given that his Neptune is in the sign of Scorpio, he romanticizes the concept of survival and holds peculiar notions towards power. He thought that his mission was to survive the end of the world and rise to power in the post-apocalyptic world. His Moon is likely in opposition to Uranus, making his deluded needs unstable. He would feel even more predestined to this mission as a result of the Moon-Neptune trine.

Mercury trines Saturn and squares Neptune. He has irrational, self-centered thoughts, yet he takes them extremely seriously. It's very real for him.

Venus is in Virgo. He is drawn to partners that he believes have potential but could use some help. It almost seems as though he views his partners as projects—individuals he can improve to reach the top of their potential. His Venus is ruled by Mercury in Leo. He helps others in order to make himself look better. He feels confident about his views on love since Venus and Jupiter are in a (large) conjunction.

The third and last planet he has in Leo is Mars. His ego drives everything he does, and his acts and behaviors are all self-serving. He takes advantage of every opportunity to show off his personality. 

Jupiter is in Virgo, therefore he is self-assured about his skills. He is confident in his ability to perfect things and regards himself as efficient and competent. Additionally, he believes that he is quite helpful to others.

Saturn is the last planet I’m going to analyze in his chart. It’s in Aries, the sign of its fall. Saturn represents our high standards and matters we take extremely seriously. In Aries, Saturn takes great care in how he behaves and acts. Since Mars, the ruler of his Saturn, is in Leo, it appears to be due to the fact that his behaviors mirror who he is. 

Many details of his life are unknown to us because we don't know his time of birth. It seems that everything he did was done to increase his perceived importance. He lacks objectivity and rationality in his chart.

Mercury in Taurus squares Mars in Leo in the natal chart

Mercury in Taurus is realistic, patient, and straightforward. These individuals will choose the option that makes the most sense and is the most reasonable, even if it does not benefit them. They have great common sense and they like to keep things as simple as possible.

Mars in Leo, on the other hand, is all about doing what makes the most sense to them, even if it isn't the most logical option. They are self-assured in their actions but might be excessively optimistic about the outcome. Like the other fire signs, they have a tendency to overdo things. These folks can also be theatrical and dramatic at times.

These natal chart placements suggest someone who has difficulties taking action that is consistent with their reasoning. People may be perplexed by their acts. Mars is impulsive and straightforward in Leo, but Mercury is methodical and patient in Taurus. These two characteristics struggle to find a middle ground. The best way to channel this energy is to pick your battles wisely. There is considerable strength and bravery in these placements, and these natives may accomplish a lot if they can find a productive outlet for this square.
