Now it seems the growing awareness of sexual assault on university campuses in the United States has seen the advent of "as the mother of a son...", implying that the mother-son relationship may have the opposite effect on women.
The fact that micro-aggressions are often subtle can make them harder to shake off than more overt forms of discrimination.
So yes, party responsibly. We all know some safety tips include traveling in groups, looking out for your friends, don’t get separated from your drink. Just remember alcohol is never an excuse to commit a crime. Dr.Gail Stern’s, Catharsis Productions co-founder, summed all these thoughts up by saying: “In terms of responsibility, I’m responsible for what I do when I’m drinking, I am not responsible what other people choose to do to me when I’m drinking.”

We need to call hazing for what it is: Violence, harassment, humiliation, abuse. By using the phrases above to justify hazing we’re contributing to the normalization of these practices.

She directed the acclaimed "Drunktown’s Finest" and the web-series "Her Story" among other films. Her work reflects her own experiences growing up on a Navajo reservation, and as a transgender woman.
