Ok so i think troopers intended for regular rank and file have a variety of seabird wings (this one is kittiwake shaped) and some batches have insect wings and bat wings etc for funkiness and flavor. theres the odd batch of rank and file with funky insect wings and a lot of commanders with bird wings because life is chaotic . A lot of them can't fly because theyre too bulked up with equipment but the folks with insect wings find it easier generally. Some folks have like, four feathered wings because theres fun alien birds we don't know about. they can fly Fox can't because his wing membrane is torn and he can't be bothered anyway
