I'm thinking about that whole "You can't afford me" panel from the comics, and now I'm just imagining Boba demanding that Vader wine and dine him because he's a little petty and a little reckless and wants to see if Vader's actually going to shell out for the exact kind of Expensive Date that Boba is
And that's the charm! That's the charm! 🔥 Where is the limit? How much can he push before it's too much? And what consequences does that lead to, when he has a hunch he might be too valuable an asset to remove over such a minor thing? Boba Fett knows the high risk high reward life.
He is offered wine in one of my fics actually and it's hilarious and then it's pretty charming. Actually I will share a snippet, if you are interested. I reread it just now and had forgotten how flirty it got 😳 [plus blink and you'll miss it rexwalker ref]
"What was the point of all this, then?" He gestures around them aimlessly, palms facing toward the ceiling.
"Did you not enjoy the wine?" Vader counters. He lifts the bottle with a flick of his wrist and sets it back on the table, upright.
Fett follows the gentle glide of the bottle through the air. His mouth is open and he inhales, ready to speak, only for him to quickly change his mind and lower his head instead.
They’re close enough that he barely has to move his hand to touch Vader’s forearm. His fingers clasp around the rough glove covering his prosthetic arm, pressing down just enough to make their presence known through all the fabric and metal between them. For what purpose? Force knows, but he keeps it there while he stands silent, hard to discern anything beyond the depressed slant of his eyebrows.
"The wine was very good," Fett says.
Vader stares at the contours of his face. He could trace them with his eyes closed—would it damage Fett to know it? Surely he would know the real reason why.
