Would it be kind of adding to the heartache of this that Blaine will probably still be invited over to the Hudmels fairly regularly that year they’re apart? And that Burt will make up excuses for a while, like it’s just having him over to watch the game that night or Carole finally wants to mend the fence in their backyard from when Finn went headfirst into it 4 months ago and can Blaine help? And if it all includes a meal and a chat to see what he’s up to and sometimes Blaine falling asleep on the couch and Carole covering him with a blanket and promising to wake him in time to get home before school…then you know, that just happens. Or they both have to be out of town and can Blaine water the plants and collect the mail and eat up anything that’s in the fridge that might go bad, oh and there’s some money under the ceramic flour pot for him to order himself some pizza if he wants to stay the night.
Maybe they even buy a puppy to help with the empty nest thing, and Blaine and the puppy bond (duh) and so of course he has to come over every day to help walk it and play with it because it whines all night long if it hasn’t seen Blaine.
And when Kurt finally comes home for Christmas (feeling buzzed but city-weary and so needing to just return to the warmth of home for a while), his first day back he realizes that Blaine’s sort of become Burt and Carole’s son-in-law and the perfect future husband. Early that first morning back he’d woken to an empty bed, gone downstairs and seen Blaine come in from the rain, letting himself in with his own key, the puppy scrambling past him but Blaine quietly orders him to wait by the door while he gets the usual towel and wipes off puppy’s feet. Then he pats puppy on the bum and sends him skidding across the wood floors to Kurt, and Blaine finally sees him and smiles beneath his dripping curls with sleepy eyes and…
I just poked myself in the heart with my own feelings ):
leeminkyo:
“I don’t want you to go.” Blaine choked on his tears. “I can’t live without you.”
“It’s only a year.” Kurt moved closer to Blaine and put his arms around his chest. “Baby, I don’t want to go, but college is important. I promise to call you every day, and we will Skype every night,…”
“You will be too busy studying and making new friends. Soon you will not even remember I’m here, waiting for you.”
“Don’t be silly.” Kurt rested his chin on Blaine’s shoulder and sighed sadly. “I will never forget you. How could I do such a thing? You’re everything I care about. You’re the only person I love. I promise nothing will break us apart. I love you too much to let some stupid distance come between us.”
“You promise?”
“Yes, I promise.”
Super quick sketch because I can’t stop thinking about Blaine being a Junior. I’m still in denial. ;A;
I still get both mad and sad when I think about Blaine being a junior.
In which Hitler finds out about the spoiler of Blaine Anderson being a junior.
He is not happy. At all.
(I saw this suggested this morning in this post. I decided to make it a reality. I wrote the subtitles and edited the video.)
