Random Thoughts about Candles

I always see fandom going, “Lol, Blaine chose a break up song as their first duet as a couple. Lol, silly puppy Blaine, lol inappropriate Blaine!” But I don’t get the reasoning.

RIB chose a break up song for Klaine’s first duet as a couple.

When Blaine chose the song, they weren’t a couple. Remember, he didn’t originally go into that room planning to confess to Kurt, Kurt asked him why he chose the song. I’m sure Blaine would have said something eventually, but at that moment, it didn’t seem like that was his intention.

What if Blaine chose the song because he expected to get rejected. At the begining of the episode, Kurt is clearly kinda over it all. He’s snarking at Blaine in a way he never did. And not long before that, he’d kicked Blaine out if his room and before that they had that fight at The Lima Bean. Maybe Blaine chose a break up song thinking he’d already fucked it up?
