It starts with an accidental proposal - Sousuke cooks something really nice and Rin likes it so much, he can’t seem to stop praising it. Then he says “Make this every day for the rest of my life!” There’s a beat, Sousuke looks at him sideways and he realises what he’s said and starts going red in the face. But before he can say anything else, Sousuke just says, “Yeah, ok.” and carries on eating.

and starts stuttering and Sousuke starts laughing, teasing him and calling him old - “What are you, eighty? That’s so old fashioned - you should take me to dinner.”

And Rin’s still red in the face, blustering, “Shut up! You accepted! You can’t take it back!”. But he goes and buys a ring and takes Sousuke to dinner to give it to him after all, because he’d always planned something romantic to pop the question when he’d thought about it before.

There isn’t really a wedding - they kind of just go down to the office and register themselves. But they have a small dinner/party afterwards with family and friends and Gou scolds them for not doing it properly. They ‘honeymoon’ in Australia, though it’s more of a re-purposing of a trip they were already planning, but they have an amazing time together. 

It’s not quite a fairytale romance with them, but it has it’s own purity I think :)

(To explain: Old fashioned ways of popping the question in Japan are soft proposals, like ‘Will you make miso soup for me everyday?’ or ‘Do you want to grow old together?’ or even ‘Do you want to lie in the same grave with me?’. So romantic, right? XP)

Oh Gou always knew deep down inside that Rin and Sousuke had a very special connection. Probably even before they realized it themselves, before she even really realized it herself. She just knew that somehow, they were going to be together always, as friends or otherwise.

Ship meme: Haruka/Makoto

Makoto is outwardly more romantic, in that he’s more the type to outright say how he feels (no matter how cheesy), or come up with date night ideas for the two of them, et cetera. However, Haru definitely has his moments, such as preparing sweet bento boxes for Makoto or spontaneously bringing home gifts. He’s more subtle about it, but he’s just as romantic at heart.

Haru. They’re both quite protective of each other and Makoto certainly doesn’t like the idea of Haru being in danger (look how he is when Haru ends up in the hospital), but he also tends to be more trusting and less likely to get confrontational on Haru’s behalf. I firmly believe, however, that Haru would absolutely throw down on Makoto’s behalf. He’s very quiet naturally, but I think it’s more like an “oncoming storm” kind of quiet. If you don’t want to get on Haru’s bad side, don’t fuck with Makoto.

Makoto, definitely. He’s certainly the type to pull Haru into spooning, or plant kisses in Haru’s hair, et cetera. Haru, by contrast, isn’t very cuddly at all, and appears quite aloof as a result.

Haru, by and large. Makoto tends to be pretty easy going and doesn’t usually perceive others as a threat to his relationship, and even if he did feel jealous, I think he’s more the type to tell himself it isn’t right for him to feel that way, that he should just let Haru go, et cetera. He’s more the type to feel jealousy and then feel guilty about it and turn it into an inward spiral of self-deprecation than he is to act on it.

But we see Haru grow jealous over Makoto multiple times in the series (with Kisumi, and with Makoto’s other friends in the prequel movie), and he definitely gets sulky and petty over it. He doesn’t want to share the bond he has with Makoto, even if he won’t blatantly say so. So he definitely is the one more likely to feel and act on jealousy, for sure.

Makoto. Big baby killer whale is super frightened by horror things, as we see in canon. Haru tends to be more bored by them than anything else. They don’t really phase him at all.

It is incredibly difficult for them to surprise each other given the nigh-telepathy thing they have going on, but Haru is more apt to pull this off than Makoto due to his habit of keeping his thoughts to himself (as best he can, anyway, considering).

Mmm, it’s about equal! Makoto lets teasing fly more freely, but Haru is probably better at the precision strikes/trolling because he has such a damn good poker face.

Neither of them are rough in the day to day; Haru values going with the flow too much to get aggressive on the regular, and Makoto is a big, gentle sweetie pie. General roughness isn’t their style.

Sexually speaking, it could be either. Makoto is conscious of his strength (Haru has a swimmer’s physique, but have you seen Makoto? Damn) but he can get caught up in the moment absolutely, and Haru knows what he wants and is unafraid to get it, so. Could be either-or.

Makoto. Haru more or less lived on his own after his parents had to go away on business and, as a result, learned to keep a nice and clean living space. Makoto, on the other hand, grew up in a relatively normal household and never had to worry about that as much, and therefore tends to be messier.
