deancas really is just like. you had to be there. you had to be strung along for years on end by writers of varyingly supportive or malicious intent, while not believing it would ever actually happen but still clinging onto blind hope, only for season 15 episode 18 despair to smack your soul out of your body and send you to another plane of existence out of the sheer euphoria and disbelief. and THEN only for the next two episodes to beat you to death for the crime of believing that based on context clues the love confession would be acknowledged and possibly requited. like you really can’t understand unless you were there.
