Couldn't have said it better myself. These writers really think people are stupid and will just go along with whatever crap they try to sell and just ignore the fact that Danny is really the only one who ever mattered.
In defense of the writers though, I think all of this is on purpose - Ben two-timing, the I love you over the phone, Mindy cheating
Add the fact that in Concord, Mindy felt bothered by Danny getting married, so much so she said:
“You know what isn’t normal and beautiful? My life right now.”
Why did she say this when she had Ben?
These tell me the writers are not making us ignore the fact that Danny is the one. I think these things are supposed to make us see that Ben is not the one.
Rewatching the previous eps, Ben just screams plot device and rebound guy. I’d be more frustrated if the writers put in effort to make the Bindy relationship more believable and shippable, but they didn’t. For that I thank them. I hope my feelings won’t change though in the coming eps.
Define special, Bev? Is it a guy who has nice qualities? Never mind that he can’t say with certainty that he loves you. Using words “I think” and “kinda.” Not to mention doing it over the phone, on the eve of your ex’s wedding. And oh, sleeps with you while sleeping with another woman, claiming you didn’t talk about exclusivity. Yeah Ben is really special.
This rubs me the wrong way #teamdanny
No matter what i love this two together….
Seeing Ma and Dot - 😍
Seeing that improved staircase - 😭
I just realized, it’s funny that Morgan defended Jody and called him a good guy yet felt a need to warn Mindy about his STD problem. Didn’t he trust that Jody, being the good guy that he is (not to mention her gynecologist), would be upfront with her for her health’s sake? A warning seemed unnecessary. Okay, Tamra at one point implied that Mindy would pounce on Jody before he gets a chance to tell her, but still. So Morgan actually believed/feared that Jody would have sex with Mindy even though he shouldn’t? I guess he’s right to go from pro-Jody to on the fence.
Morgan’s always been a pretty good judge of character because his number one concern is always protecting Mindy. Interesting also that he was never really pro Danny. He was devastated over the break up based on the fact that he actually cried but I always felt he was also concerned that he would hurt her. I can’t see Morgan ever really being gung ho about any guy.
I think his concern didn’t come until later though - when the cracks started to show, and Danny was obviously being stubborn. I think up until that point he was pretty pro-Danny - especially since he, along with the whole office, sorta forced Mindy to reunite with Danny at the ESB. No practical reasons were brought up. Just that “he’s in love with you.” And yeah he cried. Seems to me that he’s off the Dandy ship now mostly because Mindy is too. If she got back on, I think he more likely will too.
My new Mindy and Danny video :)

concept: a heterosexual man and a heterosexual woman. they are friends. neither is secretly in love with the other. They spend time together, just the two of them, and don’t feel the need to hook up. Their spouses don’t worry about them.
The chemistry between Mindy and Danny is so strong that I could watch an entire episode of just Dandy dialogue.
Based on latest spoilers looks like Mindy chooses herself. And honestly that was the choice I was hoping she would make.
My heart soared and sank at the same time. I hope this means the Jody-door will close soon, but that sorta-reunion in the finale will make any new romance harder to watch now I guess. I’m more excited about what interactions Mindy may have with the teen daughter.
I want to see who they cast as Ben and I hope he has at least a fun chemistry with Mindy. I still think Danny is her endgame but she should be hurt and angry over the wedding invite given what happened. And she shouldn’t be with someone who tried to buy her love either. Doesn’t sound like Mindy and Ben become romantic anytime soon which means probably in the second half of the season. So by process of elimination I’m assuming she chooses to be single and with her son at the beginning of Season 5 and that’s probably the first wise choice Mindy makes in a long time.
I guess this makes it more likely that Danny will push through with the wedding. The idea saddens me as it would add another blemish to an already blemished rom-com, but his wedding can be an interesting set piece, with good execution. I can see the writers grabbing another opportunity for Mindy to be a wedding crasher.

I wish we had a better sense of how long Mindy and Danny have been apart - how long he has been with Sarah. I can see it being only two months or three, which is really too soon. But then I remember Mindy and Casey had only known each other for three months when he first proposed. He was influenced to do it, but still. I guess people can be that impulsive sometimes. Thinking about that, maybe the quick engagement isn’t too questionable.
The best otps are the ones where one of them is bouncy and smiley and up for anything and the other one just folds their grumpy arms and sighs but still follows and does the thing because it makes the first one happy
