Addicted to SGA

*cracks knuckles* my time has come

but first of all, big shout out to @rodneymckays for making me see the amazing friendship that Elizabeth and Rodney have <3

Having closely watched almost all of season 1 due to our podcast I've really gotten into the Elizabeth/Rodney friendship feels <3 and i can even explain how their friendship happened! (not that i have to justify anything but i'll still do it)

After her short visit to the SGC Elizabeth transferred to Antarctica right? To find Atlantis! And who else is down there? You guessed it! Rodney! She probably picked him out herself, having read his file and saw his brilliance and stuff. So I headcanon that they became friends down there. And I think it's so obvious from the first episode! Obviously they were working a lot but i like to think that they sometimes had meals together, plus Elizabeth probably sent Rodney to get some sleep to more than one occasion. My man doesn't know how to take care of himself.

Anyways, somewhere between working 16 hours a day, trying not to freeze to death, rushed meals, and the occasional hour they spent together in the evening they became friends.

I'm not sure if he calls her by her first name right from the start but he does it quite early. Also their little quips back and forth in "Rising"? Like when they are about to dial the gate and Elizabeth is all but bursting with excitement and they have this cute dialogue:

IT'S SO CUTE! SHE ALREADY KNOWS THAT HE PLAYS THIS STUFF DOWN AND THAT HE SHOWS EMOTIONS DIFFERENTLY MEANWHILE SHE IS JUST LOSING HIS MIND BUT SHE'S STILL TEASING HIM!
