Everywhere where there have been demonstrations university administrators are being forced to engage in negotiations with the student demonstrators. If not immediately, then within only a couple of weeks of what has been a very mild disruption of business as usual. From California to New York to Paris to Palestine, history is marching forward!

This is a revolutionary moment. The revolutionary moment I have personally awaited for ten years. Should we fail, the next crisis will be another revolutionary moment even more dire than the present one, with a dizzyingly rapid escalation that cannot be contained. The youth and the broader masses have quickly organized, and have learned well from our failures in the 2020 Uprising. We move with a level of discipline and principled unity that we've only been able to dream of for decades. Lenin is young again!

“It Is an Honor to Be Suspended for Palestine”

Dispatches from the Solidarity Encampment at Columbia University

In this in-depth report, participants offer a blow-by-blow account of the events at Columbia, appraising the tactics that the demonstrators have employed and the challenges that they face.

since the white house put out a ridiculous statement condemning the protests i want to reiterate again that many of the students involved are jewish, there has always been a large jewish presence at these protests in nyc and in campus organizing for palestine

We have Holocaust survivors who directly relate their experiences 80 year ago to what is going on in Gaza and the West Bank calling for a ceasefire, now. One Jewish voice everyone should listen to is the Holocaust survivor Dr. Gabor Mate. He's a psychiatrist whose work on neurodivergence can be paradigm shifting. He has been advocating for Palestinian rights for decades.

y'all love you some cultural relativism but when someone brings up that zionism is a direct reaction to existential, centuries-old, post-genocide fear suddenly you couldn’t possibly bring yourself to empathize with a bunch of jews..israel exploits the diaspora for capital and human resources every day bc it’s ruled by fear but there they go victimizing themselves again, those jews

maybe ur local synagogue wouldn’t be selling israel bonds like the state’s cash cow if a psychological dependence on the state hadn’t been fostered in the first place based on real threats and dehumanization outside the community

So is this saying Zionism is bad or good?

its actually assessing this exact mentality non jewish leftists have that leads them to demonize diasporic jews bc of the (bad!) actions of a state formed in our name.

israel bad. jews not complicit by default. eradicating antisemitism will eradicate zionism. thats the post

Did you just say that Ethiopian Jews are mistreated?

I mean People of the Beta Israel ARE mistreated this isn’t a question.

That’s been dubunked.  Israel accepted the Ethiopian Jews as Jews, and organized massive airlifts to take them from poverty and persecution to freedom in Israel.  Israel’s Prime Minister at the time said, “For the first time in history, white people were taking black people out of Africa, not to enslave them, but to free them.”

That doesn’t change the anti black racism tho babe

No country is perfect. Alot of Western countries have mistreated migrants.  The irony is that, originally, Israel did not recognize the black Ethiopians as Jews, and was, of course, accused of racism for that.  Then, when it changed, and recognized the Ethiopians as Jews that Israel has a duty to help, she again gets accused of racism. @jewishpolitics

Bro did u even read what I said this is funny as hale…

??? Wtf are the comments on this post? Since as recent as February, Ethiopian Jews were still being specifically discouraged from making aliyah and have been waiting in inhumane conditions in “day camps” for Israel to actually deliver on their 2013 promise to allow Ethiopian Jews to immigrate like lol?? Like Israel has only permitted in a little over 1000 Ethiopian jews since their 2013 decision. This is really easy to google and has been widely documented. Comparatively, almost 4000 Americans were allowed to make aliyah in 2017 alone.

Say it!

“that’s been debunked” I’M SCREAMING… next time i meet one of my ethiopian acquaintances i’ll be like “hey how are you? did you hear, tumblr user @doctorfall says institutional racism has been debunked”

i was at a protest today in support of the palestinian great march of return. a woman from gaza spoke about growing up under israeli occupation and the importance of standing in solidarity with the people marching there today. literally only 20 minutes after she spoke she found out that one of her childhood friends in gaza, a journalist who was at the march, was just murdered by the idf. we all took a moment of silence for him while the jdl marched around the protest with israeli flags, chanting in support of the idf who had just murdered this womans friend. and like honestly its beyond me how anyone could still try to frame the conflict as “equally bad/violent on both sides” or support the israeli state and the idf as they murder innocent people or do anything but give unwavering support for palestinians & palestinian liberation

can i ask your opinion on birthright? i have a lot of friends who love the country of israel (and a couple who were born there) and all of them are anti zionists. they appreciate a lot of the cultural contributions of israel but don’t condone the political situation and they used birthright thoughtfully and critically. how do you personally feel abt it? i’m asking as a goy interested in learning more, not someone who could use birthright and wants An Authoritative Opinion or whatever

birthright is terrible i think its ridiculous that american jews like me who have no connection to israel, no family there, never been there etc are able to go on a free trip while palestinians who were kicked out of their homes arent allowed to return. birthright is also funded by one of trumps top donors shelden adelson, and it markets itself as just a free trip when it has a political agenda to get more american jews to have some kind of connection to israel or to support israel. they also specifically want jewish kids with interfaith families or kids who dont already have a connection to go on it and its literally a propaganda trip that shouldnt exist. you should look up the return the birthright campaign jewish voice for peace is doing theres more information on it and a manifesto about why were boycotting it on the website

April 6th, 2018 | Gaza, Palestine

Palestinian protestors set fire to hundreds of tires along the border fence to block Israeli soldiers’ visibility, making them unable to shoot at Palestinian protesters.

Palestinians are fucking amazing tbh…

Like Israel spends billions of dollars on its army and weaponry systems, but Palestinians would use basic tools and tactics to foil its army.

hey ur blog seems really cool and ive wondered, im an israeli and i consider myself an antizionist because we cannot detach how zionism is rooted in racism and how a jewish state as it is now is responsible for the occupation of palestinians / is discriminating arabs/palestinian israelis by identifying as a jewish state as long as it keeps the occupation on such large non jewish people / citizens. but (1/2)

what are your thoughts on the idea of two state solution? i used to say im a zionist when i was younger, before understanding things i do now, because i believed, like i still do now: that people, especially oppressed groups, better have their own country who looks out for their interests and preserves their cultures and not rely on other -hence palestinian state- im not saying israel is doing it (it treated badly mizrahim + ethopians etc and is bs) but do u think “jewish state” has value? (2/2

hello and thank you!

honestly i’m against the two-state solution for so many reasons and rather than get into the semantics of why, i’m just going to say that a two-state solution is no longer feasible, that’s what i believe anyway.

i can definitely understand where the yearning for a jewish state comes from and a place to have your own autonomy after centuries of persecution but it’s kinda impossible to implement the concept without there being problems. don’t get me wrong, states that also call themselves ‘muslim states’ (saudi, iran etc) also have minorities which face persecution but the issue there is that those states don’t particularly claim to be democratic the way israel does. so i think in theory, a jewish state has value, but in practice… it ends up being the mess it is today.

but to go back to the question of a 2ss. honestly i think in this point in time, it is no longer feasible because israel has shown itself to not be interested in it. for israel, they want as much land as they can get, and hence why it’s part of the reason the settlements keep growing and growing. not to mention that everytime the palestinians push for resolutions at the UN (such as recognition), israel always votes against it. contrary to popular belief, palestinians only have total control over 3% of the west bank, and it would take an entire withdrawal inc settlers to implement a full palestinian state which is a problem because where would you go with hundreds and thousands of settlers? not to mention, how corrupt the palestinian parties are. palestinians need genuine leadership that would be able to handle a new state and i don’t think the PA is equipped enough for that, sadly.

the occupation has honestly gotten deep, and therefore, i think the only way forward is a one-state solution with a one-man, one-vote approach. although i think there are definitely steps to be taken (such as ending the occupation, removing the smaller settlements, and other things) before absorbing palestinians from the wb/gaza into that state as citizens otherwise it’ll be a bit of a civil disaster.
